I think that aside from the fire resistance the Dragonscale allows a pretty impressive AC. When you vote please give a blurb about why you think that's the case. I figure that the answer may differ by class preference as well.

I think the most powerful sets vary by class. The Dragonscale Armor is easily the best for Druids, and is very good for Clerics / Fighters / Paladins also (although Fighters can get an extra +2 AC without the set).

Starting next year, I think the Might set will be the best for the Wizard Class.

The Mithral Class is probably the best this year, but in other years without Dragons I don't think it's as powerful. That may change based on the 5 item set bonus.

i think the mithral set just because of the +4 to Str for the gauntlets

Although - you can wear the Mithral Gauntlets with the Dragonscale and Might Sets.
Might set isn't active yet. I am solely focusing on current working sets. I think I am with lazlo though. The mithral seems to have the best combo of defense and offense going for it.

But the best part of the Mithral set can be combined with the Dragonscale set... AND there is almost at least 1 fire damage every year.

Look at it piece for piece:

Mithral Chain - +6AC: best AC for Ranger, Bard, Rogue vs
Dragonscale - +8AC: best for Druid, and Plate equivalant for heavy armor wearers

Mithral Cap - +1 AC Wearable by bard and ranger where dragonscale is not, immunity is kinda specific for it to be seen as much of a plus
Dragonscale Helm - +2 AC, wearable by Druid where mithral cap is not.

Mithral Gauntlets: best combat damage gloves at +4Str
Dragonscale Shield: +3 AC - best shield for cleric, druid, bard

Mithral Sword: meh... there's plenty of good weapons, maybe nice for a ranger as on OH, but I'm not convinced it's the best even for a ranger

Summarize
(3) classes: Fighter, Cleric, Druid, and Paladin are best off wearing the (3) Dragonscale pieces, and wear the Mithral Gauntlets.
(2) classes: Bard & Ranger are best wearing the Mithral set.
(1) class: Barbarian will use enough pieces to get the set bonus when there is a KNOWN breathweapon coming, but sacrifices better weapon & helmet options to get the
set bonus so is unlikely to use it after this year.
No other classes can use enough pieces to get the set bonus.

Alot has to do with your preffered class, but with the breakdown above, I would expect to see the dragonscale worn far more often.
(3) classes: Fighter, Cleric, Druid, and Paladin are best off wearing the (3) Dragonscale pieces, and wear the Mithral Gauntlets.

I have to add a slight reservation to that statement, if only for the paladin. Yes, that gives good AC, but in wearing the set, you give up the use of the paladin's +2 Holy Great Sword, which is their special weapon (and may be considered the strongest, depending on how you approach the class.) To some, giving up that extra bit of damage (especially adding the damage from the gauntlets) may be enough to justify the lower AC.

I'm going to have to agree and say its fairly class driven. I voted mithral because I'm a bard and I can wear that set.
Sweet a combat room, we won't take damage!

I think a nice rogue or monk oriented set could be interesting. But the sets can all be used by multiple classes they are just usually the combat classes.

I agree. I'm hoping the Monk's Belt is the first part of a Monk's set.

Personally, I am partial to the Celestial set, both in term of individual items, and for the set power. Or I would be if I had the items, and Monk wasn't my class of choice. Also, the Celestial set can be used with either of the other two sets.

On the other hand, all three of the set bonuses are fairly limited. If you aren't fighting creatures that do fire damage/have a breath weapon/are evil outsiders, you don't gain anything.
other then this year, I dont remember us knowing who we were fighting. So each set could be useful, because you have no idea what is in the dungeon
