TOPIC: Token Scarcity?

Re: Token Scarcity? 13 years 9 months ago #13

If you talk wooden tokens, I'd say the Ring of Three Wishes is a clear favorite, as are all of the Artisan Tokens. The Scroll of Light from 2003 is very scarce also, it's one of the only tokens (maybe the only token) only printed in 2003.

Yah and you will really cringe to know we were throwing them in the trash when people turned them in...

I am guessing there are only a few out there (Scroll of Light) in circulation.
But if you hadn't thrown them away, then they wouldn't be valuable and no one would care about them.

Some crafty and prophetic garbage man out there is about to make a windfall.

Speaking of that what do you do with all the tokens turned in for trade tokens? You must get thousands of them...

I am lost. Why is bastard sword +1 so valuable?

I'm guessing the +1 Bastard Sword is scarce because it does two-handed-like damage, but is one-handed.

Many of the wooden ones were kindling. The resin tokens, well only Jeff knows...

If you are going to say that scroll:light is pretty hard to find, what about the single ? or double ?? special, also only from 2003?

For chippies, I would say the rarest ones are likely to be gem of healing or possibly the elixir.

Also extremely rare. I love those wooden Special tokens by the way, with their reverse printing. =)

Kind of like when Jeff said he tossed a bunch of the 2003/2004 Rare Weapon tokens without the damage wheel...
I am lost. Why is bastard sword +1 so valuable?

It does 6.3 Avg damage, while a +2 Longsword does 6.5 Avg Damage. It's not quite as good as a Ultra-Rare (it's only +1 to hit instead of +2), but does almost as much damage.
