TOPIC: Class specific forum discussions

Re: Class specific forum discussions 10 years 6 months ago #37

I play Paladin as my main class and have plenty to offer to new players in terms of advice and what tokens to equip based on financial restrictions. I don't play wizards, rogues, barbarian, etc. For me a separate guild/hall for each class makes sense. You don't have to read every post on the forums. In addition, if having separate pages makes Dave's life easier then I'm all for it.

I would start out with generic names for each guild (e.g. Wizard's Guild) and then let the people in each guild decide on their own name.
Knight of the Desert Rose and Priest of Pelor, Lord of Righteous Indignation.

Ok, it was easy enough to create the area with the following sections:

Section:
Guild Houses

Sub Boards:

Character FAQ
Help - my questions are still not being answered
The Wilds - barbarians
The Tavern Stage - Bards
Pelor's Temple - Clerics
The Grove - Druids
The Barracks - Fighters/Dwarf Fighters
The Monastery - Monks
The Keep - Paladins
The Woodlands - Ranger
The Rogue's Gallery - Rogues
The Wizard's Tower - Wizards/Elf Wizards

If this works for people I can click a few buttons and "turn on" the forum sections. And yes, the names can be changed at any time if you decide on a better one, want to change the instructions, etc.

Let me know.

OK, I think I have it all set up and the permissions set correctly, but let me know if anything is amiss.

Dave, could the class forums be below the "General" section?

I'm thinking it would be better to draw the new players into the most relevant area....

I built it, then turned it on, but it just so happens that when you do not check any boxes by the allowed groups, no one can see it, go figure...

Should be fixed now. :)
