I like the iridescent spindle more than faceted amber.

I agree that the saves is the easiest for the group to not forget (on the party card and all) so I would keep that one in 2 years.

i don’t know how the changes to the LoDS and Eldritch set are going to affect us. per them heals and hp were precious. plus we are bad at puzzles sometimes. i have dropped 300 to 450 hp consumables in 1 room once or twice.

Wow that's some serious healing!

For me Iridescent Spindle would be the first to go.

After that it is a toss up

I agree 5% increase on likely hood on passing a save is nice to have. If you felt of going a different way this coming year the bead will be washing that deficit and giving you a +1 when things resolve. I guess what is your + to saves? When is there diminishing returns on adding on more saves?

a wrong answer or mistake on night are hitting everyone for 15 is 150. do it a couple times 300. a third and you hit your 450.

So your saying I should get you a shirt that says "need help solving the puzzel? I'm proficient in push damage!" ?

only sometimes. we would rather work at a puzzle and take damage than just take push damage and give up even if it would be less damage.

I agree with that. I think in all our years of True Dungeon we've never stopped on a puzzle just to take the push damage.

I agree for the most part, although I do give each player in our group a list of their conditional tokens, and that sometimes helps. I do often switch out conditional tokens for ones captured on the party card for that reason. This year I'm switching out everyone's Carter's Tome for Gregor's.

Why would you “Switch Out” Carter’s for Gregor’s? As far as I know there isn’t currently a single “Token” slot nor are they mutually exclusive.

Looking back at the Final Token Notes, I see that you're correct for this year, the "Tome" slot won't go into effect until 2020. It will have a limit of one Tome, although I think maybe a high attribute score (Intelligence?) might allow one or more additional Tomes.

I'm keeping Beryl and Amber in my build.

Nothing is quite as frustrating as failing on a save-or-die type attack prior to the final room (Medusa stoning, etc) so Beryl is nice.

Maybe we'll be seeing more area of effect type attacks to make the decision between loading up on pure offensive tokens and pulling in some defensive tokens harder. In this case, it's easy enough for you to quickly remind the group they all have -2 damage from Faceted Amber even if they don't remember on their own.

Spindle seems like it is likely to only be an issue if something else in the room has gone wrong. It's possible that could become a save-or-die situation so may be worth swapping Faceted Amber out for if you're confident in your healers' ability to cover what could be 60-80 damage it saves in a room (3-4 rounds of an area spell hitting everybody each round). Keep in mind your cleric and druid may have just a bit more than half of the healing capacity they have had in the last few years if they were using Divine Sight.

But really, just hope for a reprint of earcuff of orbits in the next few years. Especially when we get up to 3 treasure IS, unless some other really interesting ear options are created that would help a lot.

We'll absolutely keep Beryl, a static +1 to all Saves is great!

I agree that it would be nice to have another UR that gives additional IS slots, probably too early for an Earcuff of Orbits reprint though.

Clerics & Druids that were using the LoDS and the 2 (or even 3) Eldritch items will have less than half of their healing. I'm not sure how much impact it will have on us on Hardcore, as we rarely used all of our healing spells. It will probably keep the Cleric and Druid spending the majority of combat turns doing healing.

You know - I think a great UR token idea for Cleric and Druid would be one that lets them cast a healing spell and attack on the same turn, kind of like how the Bard can sing and attack. :)

I was thinking my build have varying spell and range damage reduction (they used to) but I just looked and whatever I had before on the builds is gone. They currently are all -2 (melee's vary still) so me remembering wouldn't be as bad, but unless it affects me too, I am usually too busy to everyone else's source of damage.

Earcuffs of Orbits are nice, but not something I want to get 10 of not for 2 extra rare IS each. If I was deciding between UR IS then it might be worth it to get some for the group.

Oh my poor attempt at humor...

I hear you though, the puzzles are excitingly challenging. High end difficulty guesses can lead to quite a bit of damage.

Folks in my group who have room for only 5 Ioun Stones dropped Iridescent Spindle first, and are holding on to Beryl Prism and Faceted Amber. Our Rogue and I have the Earcuff of Orbits so we haven't had to drop IS yet--but will when our Gold Nuggets arrive. I plan to hold on to all ten IS so if the day comes that our group needs them, we'll have them on hand (of course, we could end up with a nasty surprise on a new run, but at least we'd be ready when we replay it).

In terms of helping people remember their modifiers, I print and hand out a small "cheat sheet" before each set of runs with notes on things like "can see Invisible monsters," "-2 pts damage missile/spell" and "+1 when healed by spell/scroll"--basically, anything that isn't on the party card. It's a little bit of a pain to update it for each convention, but worth it to make sure folks don't take damage they don't need to take, etc. Of course, this works best for people in our own group who are already mostly familiar with their builds, and just need a few reminders/updates when things change. We haven't yet loaned out an entire build to a pick-up player.

Here is a shameless plug for the online character creator. One of the tabs provides a printable description of all the token effects. I copy and paste it into Word so I can add check boxes they can physically mark off as they use them. It has even helped me because I always forgot to use FOP bat on my spell slides.

The token effect feature of the online character creator is fantastic! I like the suggestion to use Word to add a checkbox. I've used the online generator when creating alt builds for pick-up runs. I just haven't switched my whole guild to it because two of our members use the iPhone app (I've set up all 10 of our builds in it too, so we can cross-check each other), and I started out using the Excel spreadsheet, which I also keep up to date. I'm having trouble justifying putting all 10 builds into yet another character generator. Especially since we're still relatively new and have a bunch more upgrading to do, which means needing to make any changes in every character creator we use.

I get it. It takes some time to input everything in multiple platforms. Here’s how I manage it.
I like the online generator for members of my group that aren’t token collectors and aren’t likely to vary their builds during a particular con.
I use the IPHONE App because I like the “on the fly capability to change my build.
If I get into a particular type of run Turkey leg, Cabal, etc I can change my build on the fly whereas I don’t have to depend on using the hotels computer or carrying my own computer and printer. Also if I get lucky enough to pull a token I wanna use in my build I can instantly swap that into my phone build.
Also coaches (I am one) want to see a token list not just the statistics page so the app is more convenient.
