True Dungeon exists because of the work of a lot of great people who volunteer their time to let other people have fun. Many volunteers get involved because they play True Dungeon – then fall in love with it. They want to contribute to something that they think is pretty cool, and they are willing to work so that others can experience the fun as well.

The GREAT NEWS this year is that we have made some big improvements to the TD volunteering experience for 2013:


Additional compensation for Certified Combat DMs and Certified Coaches

If you complete our new online certification program prior to July 1st, 2013, (and you are scheduled in a certified Coach or Combat-DM position at Gen Con Indy) you will receive additional compensation for your extra efforts.

• "Part-time Certified Coach" or "Certified Combat-DM" Position: You will receive a $100 stipend in the form of a check upon completion of all shifts on Sunday at Gen Con Indy.
• "Full-time Certified Coach" or "Certified Combat-DM" Position: You will receive a $250 stipend in the form of a check upon completion of all shifts on Sunday at Gen Con Indy.

To sign up for either one of these certifications, you only have to select that job as a preferred position, and you will be contacted later with additional information. You must volunteer all the hours you are scheduled to work at Gen Con Indy, and if you do so you will get your stipend check at the end of your Sunday shift.

The online certification process will be available in April 2013. It will involve a series of online reading assignments, videos and exams. More information will be released in March of 2013.


More Flexibility with Your Scheduled Volunteer Shifts

We have expanded the following sign-up form so that you can specify which shift you prefer for EACH DAY of GenCon Indy. We will do our best to give you the schedule that works best for you.
 

Bigger Anti-Fatigue Mats and the Addition of Tall Stools

We are investing more into anti-fatigue mats so that Coaches and DMs stay fresh and comfortable during their shifts. There will be more mats available in larger sizes. We will also have some high, backless stools available for volunteer use when their duties do not require standing.


Full-Time Volunteers Get a FREE ULTRA RARE token!

Full-time volunteers will receive a free Ultra-Rare, Limited Edition, Volunteer Exclusive token at the end of their shift on Sunday! Part-time volunteers will receive a slightly less powerful Rare version of the same token!

Volunteering for True Dungeon at Gen Con Indy has some great benefits. Not only will you get to see all the fun happening behind the scenes at True Dungeon, you will also make new friends with the many really cool gamers who also volunteer. In addition, the following benefits are available:

One-Shift (around 7-9 hours): Get a limited-edition volunteer-only Rare Treasure Token

Part-time (16 hours Thursday-Sunday): Get a limited-edition RARE volunteer-only Treasure Token, a free Gen Con badge and True Dungeon T-shirt! Most Part-Time Volunteers work a total of two 7-hour shifts, Thursday through Sunday (plus training on Wednesday from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm).

Full-time (29 hours Wednesday-Sunday): Get a limited-edition volunteer-only ULTRA RARE Treasure Token, a free Gen Con badge, one free True Dungeon T-shirt, and a spot in a FREE Marriott/Hyatt hotel room. Most Full-Time volunteers work one 7-hour shift each day (Thursday through Saturday), and one 5 hour shift on Sunday (plus training on Wednesday from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm).

Local Installation Group (Monday Noon to 6:00pm, Tuesday 9am to 6pm, Wednesday 9am to 6pm, Sunday Noon to 5pm - Lunch provided Tuesday/Wednesday): Get a limited-edition volunteer-only ULTRA RARE Treasure Token, a free Gen Con badge and True Dungeon T-shirt! You MUST be a local Indy gamer to be invited into this pool of volunteers.
