We have been talking and talking about
Epic for a long time.

I have gone to GHC, for the last two years straight, it’s cool but,

GHC is so underpowered when compared to Origins and GC,

This years Origins is sounding so amazing too
By the way.

Adding the debut of Epic at GHC would help to balance this out.

Smaller con, less going on,
It’s the perfect event to add it too.

GenCon, been going 23 years Straight
True Dungeon, been playing 16 years Straight and all 4 events last year.

We kind of did it at GHC this year in an unofficial way (just wrote it in and asked the GMs to make stuff up, was a lot of fun).

I heard whispers it might be happening officially at origins but take those with a big grain of salt, I can in no way speak to their validity its just what I hard said by a few people.

Also ding 4k-th post, I guess I'm a TV now :P

Congrats MR 4K

Origins is packed as is.

I would love it, but I don’t see it,

GHC on the other hand is really underpowered and could use it.

I don't follow you. What do you mean "underpowered?"

Its certainly smaller and more relaxed than either GenCon or Origins, but that is part of its charm.

The Dungeons ran very smoothly, in part I'm sure as we had GenCon experiences to work out the bugs.

GHC is a fun Con and a decent venue. If I weren't volunteering, I'd do fewer runs at GenCon and more at GHC.
D&D teaches all the important lessons in life - the low blow, the cheap shot, the back stab, the double cross. - Jerry Marsischky

Let them trap us. We have our swords. - Elric of Melnibone.

You try to get them to play the game, but all they want to do is play the rules. - Ardak Kumerian

I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend - Faramir

GHC feels more relaxed and to be honest i prefer it that way. I partially note that i did far more hardcore runs at GHC then Gencon and they did go easier. I chalk that up to by this point knowing what situational tokens are useful and how the combats/puzzles go then a 'dumbing down' of the rooms. Note that some rooms were tweaked and some irksome issues resolved (see no more flower smelling room).
We're all the kind of people who enjoy the game on a "meta" level. We like talking about the game year-round. We buy tokens. We enjoy crafting. We get together during the off-season if we can. We are a very skewed demographic that way. -Raven
