What is the correct method to prove one in a 6th level player and gets the extra treasure token? Never been a issue before, but at Origins this was a problem on one run.

The training room coach asked to see our treasure bump items. I have a CoA, SIlver Nugget and I have always presented my Medallion of Nobility in lieu of another method to prove player level. I am an eigth level player. My son is a sixth level player with a Silver Nugget and a Medallion of Nobility. Never before has this been a problem. But this particular coach made an issue of it. I ended up logging into outo our forum accounts to prove our level, which was tedious and time consuming. (Side note: I do have a badge holder but it accidentally did not get packed.)

The coach in questin was a bit curt and adamant but I would not say he was rude or intentionally being problematic. He had something of a point, but we are indeed supposed to have the extra token.

That's really weird, you have the Token in hand, that is all that should be needed especially if you also have the 7th Level Lanard Badge Holder too. what more do you need? They can inspect the 3 Tokens. I think this is an isolated incident to that coach, probably a noob or just wanted to make you jump hoops because he was jealous of your stash. I had 8 runs outside of LoriGorgon and this issue never came up. I would not give it much thought despite it being really annoying.

I have occasionally had to provide proof to a coach or trainer, Not Often but occasionally. The only method I have found satisfactory is logging into my forum account. I don’t have the nice badge holder yet. It is their prerogative and when I played Into the Shadowlands at Origins, (for Patrons only) we were all asked by a very seasoned GM to prove our status.

I would chalk it up to someone perhaps a little over jealous but trying to do their job none the less. I will say they should have been very cordial about the request. In absence of the badge holder, the forum account really is the best way.

MON, Badgeholder, and pin are all “legally” acceptable proof of level 6. You shouldn’t have to log in to anything.

I was asked to prove status this weekend by a couple of coaches who don’t know me. I wouldn’t take it personally. But you should let someone in authority know who made you log into your accounts, not to get them in trouble of course, but so they can adjust the training. New conventions mean a new bunch of volunteers.

MON was around for years before they were deemed proof of level 6. People threw them away or sold them. There are a lot of people who got them before they had earned them. Technically, owning a MON doesn’t prove anything, but TPTB hope that people have enough integrity they won’t take a karma hit over one chip.

I definitely showed my Medallion of Nobility a few times this weekend, upon request. I don't often get asked for proof of level 6 but when I do the MoN has always been sufficient.

I was specifically asked by one coach for proof of +1 level which was the only token they audited other than treasure enhancers. Nothing wrong with that but just a bit different.

There are exactly (4) methods to prove a 6th level player (per the Coaches' Guide):

The player must show one of the following: MEDALLION OF NOBILITY, 7th-level purple TD “Elite Level Player” badge holder, 8th-level pin, or BADGE OF NOBILITY as proof of being at least 6th-level.

I had more than one person try to show me their forum account as proof and I had to turn them away. I hate being that guy but I had to be that guy.

That being said, whoever didn't accept your Medallions of Nobility as proof was definitely in the wrong.

I am curious about the official methods of proof. Can any training room coaches weigh in? The coach involved had a laminated cheat sheet of some sort he was using. I never managed a good look at it, but he claimed the medallion of nobility was not listed.

Per the coaches guide (pg 22), we accept the 5th lv Medallion, 7th lv badge holder, 8th lv pin, or 9th lv badge as proof, link below.

Thank you for your reply. I am just going to let this drop, but it is good to know that my recollection is in line with official sources.

I never had a trainer not accept my forum login as proof... if you level mid-con, you can’t get badge for a while but you are indeed level 6... and deserve the benefit.

Maybe we need the powers that be add logging into forum as valid... it just makes sense.

If there is ever an issue, you can just politely ask for an adventure coordinator to intervene...
