It's that time of year again. Summer's heat is still strong, but has begun the slow, yet eventual transition into Autumn. It's also the time when certain bits of information about True Dungeon at Gen Con may begin to leak. I know how exciting it can be to discover a heretofore unknown tidbit. I know the desire to share one's discovery can be very compelling.

I'm going to ask a personal favor--and I realize this is asking a lot: Please keep spoilers to yourself until Gen Con is over. Can we all just agree to chill on the info dumps for a mere seven days more? Jeff, Lori, and all the directors/coordinators who help make TD run would really appreciate it.

Thank You
Have you looked it up in the TDb ?
Please post TDb corrections in this thread .

I agree, it was amazing as a DM to watch people know many answers on the first couple of Con runs. We do not need cheat codes to have fun!

Agree on keeping spoilers to yourself. It ruins the experience for those going through the first time along with those encountering a puzzle they have not solved for the second and possibly third times.

Sorry! I thought my thread was pretty mild, as far as spoilers go. And I have zero inside knowledge regarding Gen Con since I'm not volunteering there.

Not here to argue though! I completely respect the decision of TPTB.
Classes Played: Barbarian (65 times), Monk (56), Ranger (33), Rogue (25), Cleric (21), Fighter (13), Druid (12), Paladin (11), Dwarf Fighter (10), Bard (7), Elf Wizard (2), Wizard (2)

We pretty much go off the social media grid at GENCON, so we've never given or received True Dungeon spoilers at GENCON. We always go in fresh, unless it's a repeat Dungeon for one or more of us. In which case we're really careful about spoiling anything for anyone else.

On second thought, the quick solving could have been due to the fact that they had run the GT the night before, heh.

Agreed completely! I suggest not posting anything, and not discussing unless all people involved have already done that run. And if you repeat a run or a room (especially a puzzle), don't give anything away. For puzzles you have already solved I suggest not participating or at least participate dumbly (only follow others' permission). It doesn't matter if you don't solve it. Just some push damage. It's a good use for the healing spells and tokens.

We buy, sell, and trade True Dungeon tokens. We also have a convenient consignment program where you can sell your own tokens.

Yay no spoilers!
As someone who read Game of Thrones(Tokens) but not watched the series, I have experience on both sides of the coin.
I found I like to fabricate plausible events that are entirely fictional and see if I can pass it off as authentic if I know something before others. Then its doubly surprising once the victim person finds out what really happens :D

For True Dungeon, I found it was actually quite fun to play dumb. If I had run a dungeon before (Say, the first room with the lava tiles and drow where you were supposed to listen to the drum beats), I would just encourage every theory being thrown out there, even though I knew A. The process to get the answer B. The answer. Lots of fun to encourage that one guy to dance on the stones (his idea). I think the drow enjoyed the show too ;)

My standard way of 'participating' is, at the half-way point on time, to find the people in the party that are hiding in the corner, and drop a fraction of a hint. like 'do you think they should read that word forward? or backwards?' 95% of the time they walk over to the group and start engaging in the conversation .. and it helps the group solve it .. 5% of the time that one 'bossy loud guy who wants to be king' talks over them and everyone takes puzzle damage - even though the rest of the party was on track to figure out the puzzle.

Job security for me .. I play Cleric with New/PUG group :P
