We will combine the best parts of the combat and puzzle versions of an adventure, add in a new room, and then form a new version of each adventure. We will simple title them something like "Dancing Among Stone - GHC" in the XP section.

XP: We will treat the adventures at GHC as if they occurred at Gen Con, so you can only get XP for an adventure at GHC if you did not record XP for that adventure at Gen Con. There is no longer any level restriction for non-Gen Con conventions.

Um, might I suggest that this policy take place immediately right after Origins?

Otherwise, Origins will allow XP that TDC did not....

What does that matter? TDC had a different dungeon than Origins will have.

Question I have is TDC additional to the max amount of XP you can earn in a year? Which was two nightmare runs was max.

There was not a year max. If you were under level 5 you could get more than 2 Nightmare runs of XP. GHC and GenCon would get you more than 2 in a year (up until level 5 last year) and that would even be true this year if you had not played at Gen Con last year you could do Origins and Gen Con.

Correct the Origin would be LAST years xp and GENCON would be this years XP. So it is still max of two nightmare runs for a year.

Then you throw in TDC the question is that additional to the two nightmare runs?

Because in theory if it is not people could gain way more exp and get levels faster.

My understanding is that now, the year doesn't matter, how many you do per year doesn't matter, level doesn't matter, and con doesn't matter.

Only WHICH run it is matters. Variations of the same-named dungeon are considered the same dungeon for XP.

So you can do Moongate Maze and get 2k max. And Dancing Among Stones and get 2k max. Doesn't matter where or when you do them.

I don't see how this affects Origins at all.

Please correct me if I am wrong.
Classes Played: Barbarian (65 times), Monk (56), Ranger (33), Rogue (25), Cleric (21), Fighter (13), Druid (12), Paladin (11), Dwarf Fighter (10), Bard (7), Elf Wizard (2), Wizard (2)

Okay I follow you now. However there still hasn't been a year max. If you were under level 5 you could get XP at GHC (2016) and TDC(2017) in a addition Gen Con (2017).

4th: 6,000-9,999 XP So you could Gen Con (2016), GHC (2016) and TDC(2017) all on nightmare. And then be a level 5.

It affects Origins because this year is copy of last year's Gen Con. So if you got max xp at Gen Con no xp at Origins. However if you did not get xp at Gen Con you can get it Origins. Next year Origins is likely to be copy of GC 2017 so the same would apply.

Also I don't think it should be though of as 2k max. If you do normal at Gen Con and again at GHC. I don't think you will be getting 2k. You get the Highest amount of xp for 1 run. It like we already do at Gen Con.

You do 2 Normal Moongate Mazes at Gen you get 1k. You do 1 at Gen Con and 1 at GHC you get 1k.

Yeah we are on the same page. I just didn't spell all that out for simplicity. Only your "best" run of each differently-named dungeon counts.

That was what I was asking all nightmare so, based on what is stated I am level 7.
GENCON 2017 4K exp
TDC 2017 4K exp

I would gain 8K exp this year instead of 4K like all the other years. Correct?

If you are level 7 then you got no XP for TDC. It had the lvl 5 cap.

Thanks! That is what I was trying to figure out.

So from this time forward sounds like Origins/GHC will be one year behind GENCON so if you do not get your runs in at GENCON you can there.

Especially since this year A LOT of veterans were unable to get the runs they wanted.

I don't think they got the runs they wanted but I bet they got runs. I am in that boat. Nothing from my wishlist but I still got my 4 runs.

I am really glad to hear that Mr Rothfuss has agreed to sharing his world at GHC as well, and doubly glad to hear that WorldBuilders will continue to benefit from the generosity of Gamers.

Thanks for sharing this news, Jeff!

If this is the GHC plan going forward I'm excited, I know I need to miss Gencon next year, so having GHC be an option to catch up sounds amazing. Also I definitely had an easier time forming a hradcore group at GHC, this gencon I just pugged my runs.
