TOPIC: 2018 8k Order Auction

I've been inspired by some of the other 8k order auctions I've seen, and so thought I'd try running one here.

Auction Rules:

In order for the auction to be guaranteed succeed the grand total of all bids must meet or exceed $8,000 - if it falls short I may choose to go forward, or call the whole thing off.

Bidding is eBay style:

• Bids are sent to me via PM
• You must bid at least the current max bid + the bid increment.
  • Bid increment on items < $10: 50 cents
  • Bid increment on items >=$10 and < $50: $1
  • Bid increment on items >= $50: $5
• The winning bid amount is the lesser of the 2nd highest bid + the bid increment and the highest bid.
• I will post the winning bid amount and a pseudonym of the bidder periodically.
• In the event that multiple bidders all bid the same highest amount, the earliest bid will win it.

This auction style rewards early bidding, as you win ties and people must raise the bid by at least the bid increment to take it from you. Since the price is set by the 2nd highest bidder, you may enter your top bid initially and never overpay.

Initial bidding ends at 6 PM Pacific time on Sunday, November 5th, however:

• If a new 1st bidder is found on an item within 1 hour of the end of an auction the budding on that item only will be extended 24 hours. This process will repeat until there are no winning bidder changes during the last hour.
• If there are technical difficulties that prevent using the TD forums or messaging systems within the last hour of the auction all open items will be extended 24 hours. This process will repeat until there are no technical difficulties during the last hour.

Payment is PayPal, the bid amount plus shipping is the amount that must arrive in my account after fees.

Shipping on all winning bids is $3 for 10 of fewer tokens, and $6 for 11 or more tokens to destinations in the US. International shipping is at the actual cost of shipping. Shipping will occur within 2 weeks of my receipt of tokens from True Dungeon, which the exception of the signed adventure modules which will ship after they arrive.

The auction is based on the accuracy of the information on the TD store page at truedungeon.com/the-2018-token-collectionas to what is included in an 8k order as of 10/29. If this information changes materially I reserve the right to cancel the auction.

Origin Highlights

For all players, we will be presenting ALL four adventures from Gen Con at Origins – but each will have a room seen at Gen Con swapped out for a new room not seen at Gen Con. Two of these rooms will have been seen at Gamehole Con, but there will be two new rooms not seen anywhere. Also, we have swapped out the four Participation Tokens from Gen Con with four brand new ones!

For all players, we will also be premiering a new “best of” two-hour adventure (“Astral Journey to the Bliss”) that will serve as a “bridge” adventure from the modules presented during the 2017-8 adventure season to the brand-new adventures premiering at Gen Con 2018 seven weeks later. XP is not available, but there will be two new Participation Tokens (Uncommon and Rare) for this adventure.

Additionally, True Hoard will return, but this time the multiple teams of 10 players will go up against an even more fearsome foe -- The Lorigorgon!

Tickets for the above FIVE adventures (and special events like True Horde) will go on sale on some Sunday in the Spring, but Adventurers’ Guild members will be able to buy a limited amount of tickets the day before – on Saturday. Patron members will get first crack at all tickets as they will be able to buy all tickets on Friday.

This should make for an amazingly fun weekend – but it gets even better when we talk about exclusive Patron and Adv. Guild benefits.

Patrons Exclusive Fun

We are still planning all our offerings at Origins, but there will be a special "best of" two-hour TD adventure called "Through the Shadowlands" that only Patron's can play. We won’t be rained-out this time, and it will have a unique Participation token only for our Patrons.
Additionally, we are planning a few other fun bits, but I can’t talk much about them now.

Patrons and Adventurer Guild Members Exclusive Fun

There will be special runs set aside for Adventurers’ Guild and Patrons that will feature a bonus 8th room in the new “best-of” bridge adventure (“Astral Journey to the Bliss”). It should be a fun and unique room!

And again, both AG and Patron members will get first crack at tickets before anyone else.
