Do people generally do reserve prices for these auction? Like, if the high big on the Amulet of the Champion was $25, would it be acceptable to say no?

It would be acceptable for you to place starting bids for each item.

Thanks, maybe I will. I looked and some of these haven't sold for a while, so values might be hard to determine.

Well, to save you the hassle of hunting for recent bids on at least one of the tokens, I'll put a bid of $75 on the Bracers of Fast Fitness. If that's within your acceptable price range for starters.

I'm curious, how do bids via PM at the end prevent sniping? I suspect you will still get a lot of last second bids (not that that's a bad thing).

Also, are you doing EBay style bidding, where the top bid is $X above the second highest bid (or above the minimum bid)?

Good luck with the auctions!

I think it's also okay to post a low bid you don't intend to accept, as long as it's marked as such.

E.g. Earcuff of Energy - $10 (reserve not met)

You don't have to reveal what the reserve is. Most people would rather you did, but it's your auction.

That gives you the flexibility of accepting a low-ball bid at the end if you so choose, but avoids the situation and ensuing bad blood where someone thinks they have the winning bid, and then you tell them "never mind."

OBTW - $50 for Robe of Arch-Mage

Do you mean A bids $100, B bids $85, so A wins and pays $90?

And wouldn't PMs prevent sniping by people submitting their max bid and then not knowing if they needed to snipe someone else's?

Brian, that is the type of bidding I was referring to.

I suppose if you weren't updating the prices on the forums in the last hour and only taking bids by PM that would cut down on sniping. Might it also result in lower prices?

Yeah, that's a trade-off, I guess.
