As mentioned above, you can get permanent marker off this kind of surface pretty easily, so I wouldn't read anything into the markings not being there.

Matthew, I do agree with that, I don't see any issues at all with someone selling the character cards, although I do think they should clarify that they aren't reusable for future years.

None of them had any marks on them either. I am working towards getting one full set of 4th and 5th level cards. I kept the Paladin card that was in the best shape and threw the other three away.

Buying tokens off of ebay is risky at best. If someone wanted to pawn off counterfeit tokens, ebay would be the best place to do it. That's why I only buy my tokens from TD Tavern and other reputable dealers. The LAST thing I want is to spend a lot of money only to find out that I had been scammed.

Know what's really scary? The seller of this auction has 315 feedbacks with a 100% feedback rating. Even if he came by the cards honestly, $60 is a total rip. How does someone rip people off like that and get a 100% feedback rating??

I am a big believer in "What goes around comes around". Go around ripping people off like this and it WILL come back to haunt you.

My best guess is that this eBay Seller doesn't play TD or this was his/her first time playing. The Seller stuck around afterwards and asked people for their character cards if they didn't want them. He/she figured they might go for a lot and eBayed them. It happens a lot after big Cons. Some of the swag I've seen on eBay from SDCC, GenCon, Star Wars Celebration and NYCC is expensively listed. But, after a few weeks you see the prices drop drastically when the promo items don't sell. I bet this Seller thought TD items are rare and hard to get so started off with a high price.

As a matter of fact, someone put the Relic Baneful Shirt on eBay right after GenCon. The person listed it for a way high price. I emailed the Seller through eBay and explained what the shirt was and to check out our forums here to get a better idea of what to price the shirt at. I received an email back not even a day later saying thank you and that he reduced the price comparatively to what people sell them here for.

Mike, they are reusable. Well, at least until the character cards get updated again. Which might not be for another few years.

I guess I wasn't clear. I didn't mean they can't be reused, only that there is some perceived value to bringing these with you to GENCON. Like, if you have these in your possession you can play 5th Level Characters, even if you don't have the tokens to qualify for 5th Level Characters. And I'm not saying that is what this seller is doing, just that that is a way I can see an auction like this as being ethically questionable.
