TOPIC: Solution videos?

Will there be something released telling us the solutions to the problems?
My group went through Puzzle Viper's pit and had a great time, but there is one puzzle that we remain completely confused by (The floor tile puzzle).
I've seen references hinting at some sort of code word, but have yet to see it explained.

Strangely though we made it through unscathed. Our DM (who, as it happens, was a friend of some of our group) was clearly shocked by us bumbling through without actually doing that much.

We all (pretty much all greenhorns. about half of us had done a single run in previous years) had a blast and will be trying to get one of each of next year's runs.

That is also the one we not only failed to solve but still have no idea how it works.

They will have videos posted showing the solutions fairly soon. If you want more details, many of the big token purchasers will be receiving printed copies of the modules that you can probably buy for around $25 based on past experience.

From what I can gather you spelled out letters using the rope. Then you touched the symbol spelled out by the rope.

Which tiles you used I am not sure but I think it was the dots, in ascending order, and not the symbols.

Only went through that room once so I'm not sure even after hearing part of the solution.
You can't fix stupid but you can TPK it.

This is correct. They would say that the "triangles" glow and you would link the rope through the triangles from 1-9. Then circles. Then squares, or whatever. Then you touched the "Speak" rune. If you touched the "Spear" rune, you took 6 damage (on Normal) and your arm was paralyzed...

I believe that the point was the most powerful weapon was the power of speech. Dumb luck my puzzle friend figured out by the 2nd letter. The nightmare run I did with the DDA still never figured it out.
We're all the kind of people who enjoy the game on a "meta" level. We like talking about the game year-round. We buy tokens. We enjoy crafting. We get together during the off-season if we can. We are a very skewed demographic that way. -Raven

It was circles, then triangles, then squares then pentagons then hexagons. They increased the number of sides or number of points.

Having the tiles with shapes glow would have been amazingly helpful. I definitely think this room needed some sort of additional clue. Glowing tiles would have done it, though honestly a slightly less obvious one would probably have been fine to.

Yes, circles, triangles, squares, pentagons. A lot of groups got the point, but failed to notice that the rope formed a letter. They felt the need to 'connect the dots' as if it changed something mechanically - ie, they forgot the clue "What is the favored weapon of the priests of Vipron?"

One of the funniest moments all week (and that means a lot, since I hang with Team Yeti). Just as time was running out, one group figured out that the rope spelled letters - they got the 'S', they moved on to the triangles and got the 'P', the tension was building as the squares gave them an 'E' - at that point their druid jumped up and yelled - "Quick, go touch the Scorpion!"

And a guy did it. I tried desperately not to laugh out loud as I told the gullible sacrifice about his damage. Several party members threatened to beat the druid senseless until his wife (?) exclaimed, "Don't blame him. He's a product of the Kentucky school system!"
You still got hit points! Get back in there and fight!!

Rooms will be adjusted over time as we see how parties interact with rooms. A monster's stats can be adjusted if they are too easy or difficult to defeat, or the way a puzzle works can change. For example, in my Zephyr dungeon, it was decided that normal groups only had to infuse two energy spheres, instead of three. NM and HC groups still had to do all three.

I have noticed this. I suppose doing puzzle runs on Thursday puts you at a disadvantage if your goal is to get the most treasure :) Unfortunately that's the day that works best for my wife when she joins me...

I love Thursday puzzle rooms. Being one of the first through while the DMs are still calibrating themselves, almost no chance of a repeat player with the party, The fresh equipment before anything has a chance to break(or you get to be the one that finds the flaw). The excitement that comes with the beginning of Gencon.

Sunday has a much different feel. Still fun, but different.
