Not sure I've seen this answer, but while on the subject of singing...

Widseth's allows non-verbal action while singing. I've only ever heard this as being treated as attacking, even in the TokenDB, but a literal interpretation of the token text seems to imply a lore check could be done instead. Or is the idea that communicating that lore to the rest of the party is considered "verbal?"

Its just an attack, you can't do a lore check. The printed text on the token is a bit misleading.

Lore check is helpful, if you don't already know the weakness. Just use the big brain and recall your monster facts and they are most often correct.

Our bard normally starts with a lyre of echos on round one, then lore checks on his first echo round.

I confirmed with Jeff, Widseth's Mystical Lute does not allow the bard to perform a simultaneous Lore check. the TDb has been updated to reflect that.
Have you looked it up in the TDb ?
Please post TDb corrections in this thread .

If a monster lands an attack on a fellow party member, who says the attack just took exactly half of her remaining HP, don't assume anyone else heard her, or that the DM will have mercy and not attack her again because it's only the first combat room -- SPEAK UP!

We lost our rogue in room 3 because of that. :-(

Why don't you pick up a duck? I saw the one in the egg room of the Viper's Pit. What's the story behind it?

I would say show up early as possible and get to know your party in the coaching room. A discussion about the characters and their abilities will hopefully lead to a more balanced party rather than one with only a lone support character.
