TOPIC: Uses for holy water

One of the items in the token set that puzzles me is holy water.

I am not sure what situation would make holy water useful. It does 4 damage to undead. If the bard is singing every melee and missle weapon (except a dagger) does more damage.

Besides functioning as a security blanket, "Well you might need it for something", what else does Holy Water do.

I suppose you could use it to put out a fire (and an undead fire, at that!) Also reminds me--is the token "waterskin" assumed to be full of water?

Ah, but it is a guaranteed 4pts of damage is it not? Sometimes that guaranteed amount is better than a chance. Besides it is just classic play to use holy water against the foul denizens.

Actually it's not a gauranteed hit. I think the most likely use would be against a wraith if one didn't have a magic weapon. I bet something like that would probably only appear in hard-core, if at all.

True, not a guaranteed "hit", but a guaranteed amount of "damage" it hit.

"Splash effect" grenades could be a good discussion point for DM training.

I heard talk of this last year on the forum, and it didn't sound like it.
One room had a fountain, so some people would use it to draw water from it. But I dunno, I haven't actually played. *little laugh*
