TOPIC: Recycling tokens

One of the big things that will help the economy is the fact that used consumable items will able to be recycled. After a player drinks the Potion of Cure Light Wounds, the GM can give that token back to the NPC vendor for resale. This will work well for any Potions and scrolls and should help keep prices from raising too high.

Has an thought been given to how to recycle a wand? The wand token get marked off for each charge of the spell and when the 5th charge is used the wand is given to the GM. Is there anyway to unmark the wands so they can be resold and reused?

I asked this very question of Jeff a few days ago and the answer has some significant reprocussions. It is possible that this will change in the future but this is what I was told. Basically, when all of the charges of a Wand are used, it becomes worthless and can be discarded. With each use, the charges will be filled in with permenant markers and the wand will not be recycelable.

and if you find a way to clear it dont say it here, everyone would do 4 charges and then clear their wand (duh!) But you can tell me if you find a way (please!)

I would suggest that the DMs push a hole in the token with a awl or something for each use.

My suggestion was that TD print "charge tokens" and you would turn your Wand in for 5 of these tokens and then turn tokens in for effect.

This would allow recycling of wands.

But apparently there is no way to clear a wand with out damaging the red ink on it.
