dequils,
Can you add an estimated price for the Golden Ticket to the price guide.

Thanks.

It is an invitation to the VIP party/preview/"first run thru" of the TD adventure the night before GenCon opens.

You should be able to sell it for quite a bit of gold. I know at least two people who have expressed interest in getting a gold ticket.

My advise is to auction it off.

But since it is likely going to be the only one sold, there is no way anyone could guess on a price.

You can't really do a price estimation based on Token Values and golden ticket prices largely depends on secondary market value. It does cost $250 to get one but the value would most likely be less than this. You do get tokens after all. ;)

And I assume that this counts as admission ($20).

So there are your upper and lower bounds. Beyond that, you are on your own. :D

It does indeed pay for admission...

Waiting to hear from Jeff if we can pester the WoTC people that will also run in the VIP adventures for autographs...

Personally I put a high price on being able to run the Dungeon on Wednesday night...but those not in town that day, may care less about it.

I am not sure who is going to show up from WotC. I heard that some of the D&D Team will be there, but that has not been confirmed. Wednesday night at GenCon can be a hectic place, so it will be interesting to see if the bigwigs can make it. I hope that Peter Adkison can make it (he has been to both previous VIP run-throughs), as well as Stefan from Dwarven Forge.

As far as autographs go...if you think someone is cool enough to warrant it...ask for an autograph! [Especially if you are the Cleric and they need a heal!]

Getting Peter's Autograph would be the highlight of Con for me.

Guys,
While I don't have the Golden Ticket, a member of my party may be making it available in the near future. We are discussing what to do with it and what it's worth and what it does...

The gold ticket is an invitation to the VIP playtest run of a True Dungeon adventure. It is a chance to meet cool people and see the dungeon before everyone else. It has a huge value in coolness. Since you get a dungeon run some people say it is worth $20.00. If you are not a total geek, it may not be very valueable but for those of us who are, it is priceless.

If no one in you group is interested in going you might talk to Widseth. I hear Mrs. Widseth is letting him choose between giving her the gold ticket or sleeping on the couch for a month.

I just noticed a price in the Token guide that I strongly disagree with. The Hourglass of Answers is listed as only having a value of 200 GP. Since there are only 3 hourglasses listed on the master token list (and Jeff has one of those) I think the price base on pure scarcity should be at least 3500.

The only reason I bring this up is I was thinking about selling mine but I am going want a couple of purples for it.

Hey George...

I saw an Hourglass get pulled from a bag at SoCal...

I also traded for one out of the shop...gave up a couple of reds and some greens.

I think they are floating about now.

That is the same place I got mine. (I got the hourglass and a Special ??? (which I traded to Raven) so I know Jeff was digging deep to make up those bags). I wonder if it is the same hourglass. There have been no trades for hourglasses on the trade list which is why I think the price is too low. It has ZERO usefulness in a dungeon but it is extremely hard to get if you are a collector. I think it is on par with a ring of regeneration.
