As a faithful, diligent US Postal Worker I can agree with the previous statement which recommends using a padded bag. If possible, just wrap the token with a little bubble wrap and place inside a padded bag. Waytoomuch. was correct in stating that small parcels do go through sorting machines and on occasions have barcoded labels applied. These barcodes are later “read by another sorting machine and processed. Unfortunately items sometimes get damaged through carelessness or unintentional procedures. Luckily the percentages that are damaged are relatively small, but that is no consolation to the person who receives the broken merchandise. Don’t let that keep you from trading and using the world’s best postal service.

Koralk:

I sent you a PM regarding the token. I don't have one to replace it with right now, but we'll get it replaced with the next run.

If this happens to the tokens I mailed out to Koralk and Raven, I apologize, I didn't think this could or would happen.

It was the quarterstaff I sent him. I didn't take any special precautions with it other than taking it into post office line rather than dropping it into a drop box. I'm still shocked it could even be put into a position where it could be snapped. I just sent out two more envelopes of tokens a day or two before koralk announced this too. Hope those get through okay.

Its all good henwy, it wasn't intentional or anything.

It'll all work out. Thanks for the trade, nonetheless. :)

Ok. So apparently I have been targeted by some sort of conspiracy that seeks to muscle me out of the Token Trading business.

I received a trade from Rave (thank you kindly, by the way). It was reinforced in the envelope by being encased in a cardboard "envelope".

How this happened, I don't know. How in God's name it happened to me a second time is a question I'll have to ask when I meet with Him in person.

I don't expect a replacement for this one (its a +1 Cloak, thats easy enough to tape together and put in my badge holder). Still, its frustrating.

Koralk,

When I send your slew of tokens I am trading you - they will be in a padded envelope - I may even reinforce it.

It sounds to me like your post office has a really sharp turn on their processing machines. Either that or they ship elephants on a regular basis.

Have you been tipping your mailman at christmas time? Maybe you got someone who holds grudges.

I know it adds to the weight, but what about placing the token inside a more rigid sacrificial case, like a CD case. I know I have tons of empty cases lying around and would not mind loosing one of those. There are other alternatives available, but apparently cardboard is not enough to protect innocent tokens from some state, county, or local mail handling equipment :) .

A long time ago you used to be able to write "fragile, hand cancel" on a envelope or package or "photographic media enclosed" and get special handling. With todays automated methods, though, that might not be feasible anymore.

Of course, maybe it never worked  , and I was wasting my time. maybe Mr. Anthony has insight or further suggestions.

Mine are being hand stamped and cancelled - but I think they still sort someplace...like maybe at the local destination...and since Koralk is the victim twice over I would say that this is not a coincidence.

We shall see what happens when a padded with 7 tokens arrives.

Have you tried gluing them back together? I actually dropped and stepped on my Ring of Regeneration. I was crushed at first, but I glued it and it actually looks ok. Just an idea.
