You can't really because of the fact that it is a changing market.
And it is also controlled by perceived value.
The PV will vary from person to person. The guide is only meant to be a median, and is that a guide.
Like you said you would do it again because of your PV attached to said items in trade.
And because different people value things differently each can go away feeling like they got a good deal, because they traded something with a lower PV for something wth a higher PV to them.
So its all good.
