TOPIC: PayPal Change

Has anyone else noticed a PayPal change? For me, instead of having an option of Friends & Family or businesses, you just have one option to send money.

After sending a payment that included fees, I figured out that there is a box at the bottom that is checked that says something like Payment Protection. If you want to send without fees, you have to uncheck that box. So, if you're seeing that change also, and want to send payment without fees, be sure to uncheck that box.

Was this mobile or web? For my This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. account nothing has changed. I just sent money by going to Tools -> Send Money, then clicked on the "Friends & Family" link.

It's possible it is being slowly rolled out to some users to test a new version of code though.

PayPal wants us to upgrade so we are testing it out now. It should be fully installed this week.

Not so nice. Going from an opt-in to an opt-out policy. Thinking of them as fleapay now.

I don’t think it’s unfair. We just have to pay attention. They are a business, after all, not a charity or public service.

Since eBay will be getting away from using them, they are trying to get every dime

They did change the messaging for sending without fees from more positive (sending to friends and family) to more negative (opting out of protecting your payment).

As a business that makes sense for them, as does the opt out. They make more money if you pay fees, especially if you aren't using a credit card.
