The 2018 Orb of Dragonkind tokens for all Onyx Sets will NOT be enclosed with your pre-orders. They will be sent with your modules in November. This is due to a few reasons, but the biggest change is the inclusion of an RFID chip inside the token. This is being done for anti-counterfeiting reasons. More info to come around Gen Con time.

Thanks for your patience and your understanding.

I can live without having the token early, though it's a bit disappointing. Love the security feature. Can you talk in more detail about how it will work and which tokens will have it?

Not that I'll ever have an Orb, but RFID is a great idea.

Love the RFID idea. Will we be seeing a request for the big tokens to be sent in to be replaced with the RFID chipped ones so we don't have to keep taking them out - for example the Charm of Avarice?

All treasure enhancing tokens would be awesome! I hated pulling them all out.

We're working at the TE's being scanned in the Training Rooms. More info to come.

Very glad to hear about the additional security measures. Interested to see how this will be implemented.

For the 8K non-onyx orders, how will the orbs be replaced with the rfid version?

That's great, I'd love for the TE tokens to be able to be scanned instead of having to take them all out to be inspected individually.

Will each one have a unique identity? Will this technology be applied to tokens like Eldritch Tokens as well?

Very cool, and loads of potential if we can just scan tokens like items at a grocery store.

It would be cool if it could work that way but I suspect we're looking at a wand that scans for authenticity and I suspect the RFID chips are pricey enough that they will only end up in the super rare tokens.

Security is a great thing given the investments that have been made.

RFID chips are a great way to do that.

Hopefully the scanning technology can be effective enough to evaluate 10 tokens close together without them being taken out of the carrying cases.
