TOPIC: Signing Tokens

Does anybody have any suggestions for the best marker for writing on tokens in a permanent fashion?

Sharpie, but it’s not truly “permanent.” It’s highly resistant to water and rubbing, but alcohol will take it right off. You might want to seal it. (Test it all on a random common first to be sure Your sealant won’t screw up the ink)

On a completely unrelated note... if you could have Patrick Rothfuss sign one token for you, which would it be?

For my own personal enjoyment, I'd either go for the Court Ring or the Greysdale Mead. If I had to choose, probably the Court Ring.

Kvothe's Bloodless
D&D teaches all the important lessons in life - the low blow, the cheap shot, the back stab, the double cross. - Jerry Marsischky

Let them trap us. We have our swords. - Elric of Melnibone.

You try to get them to play the game, but all they want to do is play the rules. - Ardak Kumerian

I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend - Faramir

If I were having him sign one token, I think I might actually go with either the Shaed or the Ring of Soothing Touch. Denna's ring is pretty iconic.

Though the other suggestions are also very good.

Tokens are so cramped for space already. Getting an autograph on a token to actually look good might be a challenge.

After browsing through some of the options, I think Fiddy's choice of getting Court Ring signed is a really good one. The entire bottom half of Court Ring is either empty or silver. An autograph would pop, rather than looking cramped.

I'm a sucker for aesthetic, but to each his/her own.

A paint marker would be my choice. Finding one with a fine enough tip would be the challenge.

I'd just keep it in one of those individual poker ship holder/cases. Something like this:

Or if it's particularly valuable:

Have you looked it up in the TDb ?
Please post TDb corrections in this thread .

I have signed toys with this paint marker so I know it works on plastic. The fine tip works pretty well too.
