TOPIC: 2018 Quick Token Reference < Please Proof!

Druegar has fashioned the QTR for 2018, and he needs our help to proof it. Please give it your attention quickly, as I need to get this to the printer ASAP. This is the version we print and send to all big token buyers. A larger online version will be posted on the TD site, too.

Jeff, Thor's Hammer reads as if it cannot be thrown. It states it is a melee weapon only.

Crown of expertise has a typo, to instead of do

Charm of shadow shot only works if the first ranged attack hits?

Gauntlets of the midgard serpent is missing "time" In but every time the wearer

Why is the text on raider's robe and raider's shirt different?

Ruined bliss bull armor appears to be in the wrong order

Scroll Loki's blessing has worm insstead of room

Are all of the Bliss weapons supposed to be magical because they deal extra damage in Bliss? Whether yes or no, there is inconsistency on which weapons are listed as magical versus non-magical.

Crown of Expertise "... do not have a checkbox ..." instead of "... to not ..."

Dust of Disappearance, add "do" in front of "pretty" or similar change in wording.

Dust of Distraction - does it need to specify that it just affects the one room (not permanent +2 AC)?

FoP: Imp, "... used against ..." not "... used by ..."

Gauntlets of the Midguard Serpent, add "... time ..." to when the wearer hits.

Gloves of Linked Fury. Don't believe they are Gloves of Linked Fury but vaguely recall Berserker Fury or something.

Hellbane Cloak - "self-targeting" is not obvious in meaning. Should it be "When using a healing spell/power on another that does not heal you, ..."

Horn of the Blessed Ox has similar awkward wording on self versus others.

Lenses of Heimdall Sight, can't it just be simplified to say "invisible creatures"?

Lotus Blossom Bowls, superfluous language on who it affects.

Masterwork Thieves' Tools. Misspelled "usable". Awkward wording on having multiple copies of the token. Can't just say "Only one MTT can be used per adventure no matter how many the thief owns."?

Medallion of Energy, "wearer" not "wearers", can be rewritten to avoid "they" problem.

Necklace of the Norns, see MoE.

Potion Brawn, is that the actual name? Should it say until end of room?

Raider's Shirt, "maximum" because it's not a usual AC slot? Just seems confusing or unnecessary.

Ring of the EEl, "... as Shock"? Couldn't it just say "... +3 Shock Damage ..."

Scroll Comprehend Languages, self-only and can't target others kind of means the same thing or one includes the other.

Scroll Loki's Blessing, "worm" is probably "room".

Thor's +5, add any explanation of what Returning means?

yes, per the definition of "magical" as seen in the QTR

That's the name that's on the token image. See for yourself .

The intention was to avoid people thinking it meant the user would hallucinate and see things which aren't there. If you think that sounds ridiculous, I'd like you introduce you to some very literal-minded gamers I've encountered...

yes
no, all potion effects end with the room unless specifically stated otherwise

That wording has been used for years because the damage type from the weapon doing the attacking doesn't change, it's just the additional damage which is Shock. E.g., if my rapier hits you for 8 damage while I'm wearing this ring, you will take 8 Piercing damage and 3 Shock damage, not 11 Shock. See my previous comment regarding overly-literal gamers.

Per Jeff, both the actual ranged weapon as well as the CoSS need to hit in order to deal the +6 damage.

Page 28 has copyright 2015 when the rest of the book has 2017.

The section on How To Read a Token might want to be expanded to talk about the icons for converting to trade goods...

Page 5 - Bliss Axe should be magical
Page 7 - Crown of Expertise - change "to" to "do"
Page 8 - Gauntlets of the Midgard Serpent - add "time" before the wearer
Page 8 - Infernal Shoes - Place parenthetical clarification after "Spells" to match other Internal tokens
Page 10 - Ruined Bull Bliss Armor should be Ruined Bliss Bull Armor
Page 10 - Scroll Loki's Blessing - remove "worm"
Page 11 - Thor's +5 Returning Hammer of Smiting - change melee to compound, add text about returning instantly if thrown.
Page 11 - +3 Throwing Hammer of Smiting - change melee to compound
Page 18 - Ruined Bull Bliss Armor should be Ruined Bliss Bull Armor

Ok, if the Bliss weapons are magic, what about Dwarven weapons that provide +3 to Giants?

If all those are magical, the implication is that Ring of the Serpent and Ring of the Wolf do not function with these weapons. If that is the case, we need to update the various character generators for this. At one time only weapons with +'s were considered magic.

Also, what about Thrall weapons?

Edit: Also what about Drow weapons which at +1 hit points per hit?
