So I was thinking about the Teeth of Cavadar while working out my party cards for this year. Just to refresh everyone's memory the devious dentures grant the following powers.

Tier Power Description Duration
0 Cell Repair Heal 4 HP (once) instant*
1 Adjust Mass Walk on water as if it were solid ground full room*
2 Control Mass Greatly slow your fall(s) for no damage full room
3 ESP Monsters cannot Surprise you full room
4 Planar Vision Ignore the 50% miss chance when attacking incorporeal targets full room*
5 Mind Shield Negate the effects of a failed Will saving throw (once) instant
6 Energy Adjustment Negate 5 points of Cold, Fire, Shock, or Sonic damage (once) instant
7 Energy Control Negate 10 points of Cold, Fire, Shock, or Sonic damage (once) instant
**8** Astral Projection Gain access to special event*** n/a

Which are all cool and unique other then Energy Adjustment & Energy Control. Which are more or less the same given you can only use one power per dungeon. Which is cool but a little bla for the final 2 powers of a 7 year Transmuted-Grand Eldritch relic. Based on that what would people think about swapping out one of the energy powers (since no one has access to it yet anyway) for something like.

7 Transmutation Player takes 10 points of damage, GM marks +1 treasure chip on the party card (once) instant

Anyway I'm just musing, what do you guys think.

Only once?

I guess I won't have to trot out my 120 hp Barbarian build.

10 hp for 1 Treasure is pretty cheap.
D&D teaches all the important lessons in life - the low blow, the cheap shot, the back stab, the double cross. - Jerry Marsischky

Let them trap us. We have our swords. - Elric of Melnibone.

You try to get them to play the game, but all they want to do is play the rules. - Ardak Kumerian

I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend - Faramir

Fail to see the thematic connection.

Fail to see why there needs to be more treasure distributed. Fail to see why there needs to be more treasure distributed to 1%ers even more.

More related to the name energy control, have someone be able to add +10 damage of fire, cold, or shock to melee, physical ranged, or spell or +5 to make it suckier or whatever.

There was fairly big pushback on TEs that also do something else positive for you in terms of stats in design this year when considering the TE granting cloak.

What's good for the new player is good for the Eldritch BIS player.

No TEs effects on tokens that grant other bonuses seems to be the policy.

Heck if it said "Kill yourself: +1 Treasure" lots of people would do it

Old Jack Benny routine

Mugger: I said your money or your life!
Benny: I'm thinking it over. B)

Give up a survivor pin for a treasure? That's easy. ;)

Thank you for thinking outside the box, but no, just no.

You just don't want to have to track down 10 ;)

Fail to see your logic. It seems that envy has clouded your creativity to make it become thematic: "Sense hidden treasure" +1 Treasure Chip

I earned my set through hard work and careful choices. If you spent a lot of money by saving/trading for the Teeth while being dedicated to completing the set during the 7 year period, "Fail to see" how that is unfair. It's rewarding dedication and hard work instead of handing out a participation trophy to make everyone feel fuzzy.

Some suggestions for other powers to replace the 6 & 7 redundancy:

'Enhanced Cell Repair" - Heal 20HP
"Alter reality" - Reroll failed save
"Willed Strike" - Reroll attack slide
"Watchful Warding" - +4AC
"The Dreams of Youth are the Regrets of Maturity."

Boom goes the Devil Drake when this Rogue slides a 20 with a Holy Hand Grenade.

My group is not dedicated enough for me to worry about getting 10 of each of the teeth. I have 2 of each and traded or sold the rest away and even if that was the power I would still have only kept 2.
