I do not own the TDb, Jeff/TD does. That's been the case from the beginning.
I am just its curator--a volunteer position.
Have you looked it up in the TDb ?
Please post TDb corrections in this thread .

I do have permission from Jeff to use the information and images from TokenDB, however his request was that everything is hosted on my site. I do link to the original data out of respect for how awesome TokenDB is, however I have always done that (it isn't new).

When creating consignments, the TokenDB URL is used to provide a source for the official information for a token that is not already listed on my store. Once the my store listing is created the link is no longer used.

I hope that makes sense. Basically the URL is used to make sure there is no miscommunication about which token is being listed, as a point of reference.

I got the apparently erroneous impression that people were embedding images being hosted on somebody else's server. Never mind.

I can't speak for anybody else, but at least for me, all images are served from my own server once I pull them down from TokenDB. That's was Jeff's request when I asked for permission to use the images.

And thank you so much as always, it is an invaluable resource.

One potential issue I see is for things like this:

www.tdtavern.com/3-deathcleaver.html

I'm curious how placement on the page and the 5 cent lower price will cause (or not cause) people to buy consignment vs. direct.

Right now I have ~15 tokens in the system that are listed as 5 cents cheaper than the direct price.

Any thoughts on making the default price difference larger than $0.05, or perhaps scaling based on price?

Keep in mind that if somebody just adds the product to the cart from the browsing or search results screens, they will by default get the least expensive option. So I do think some will sell this way.

Also note that you can set your high price lower than my price and then your token will be listed at your high price.

I think the high price fixes my concern - I hadn't reasoned that out.

Agreed! Also, if say another person lists the same token for consignment, and both of your tokens have low prices lower than my own offering, then one of you will end up $0.05 below the other person's low price, presumably much further below my own price than you are currently. And since only one consignment price is visible at a time, the consignment option might show up for example as $349.50 or whatever, which is significantly lower than my own price.

OK, six days of token consignment and things are going well! I do have several sellers listing consignment token and I just sold my first Charm of Avarice on behalf of one of my consignees. And I'm proud to say that the seller will walk away with more cash in his pocket than the same token that is currently listed on eBay (not yet sold). And of course the fees that I charge (less than eBay) will certainly be pumped back into the True Dungeon world rather than eBay's shareholders. So far this is looking like a win/win for everybody.

Thanks to the sellers and buyers for trying this out and making it successful!

Thanks again to all of the people who have listed consignment tokens on my site. I have had a few bugs to work through and for a bit the consignment listings weren't showing up properly. But all seems good now. I have also hit 10 tokens sold, including a few big ones. And that's with only about 30 tokens actively listed via consignment.

Consignment is especially good for tokens that I don't already have listed and/or tokens that are out of print and worth more than say $10-$20. Examples of this include many old URs and any "out of print" transmutes. There are also active listings for the Charm of Avarice and the 2017 Dragon Orb. This works well because I either don't have the token you are listing or I have it priced fairly high due to low inventory.

On the other hand, if you are trying to list a current relic or UR and want to move it fairly quickly, you'll need to set pretty aggressive pricing to beat my price and other consigners' prices. I still believe it to be a much better system than what you can do on eBay though.

I did want to remind people that when listing an item please choose your low price and high price carefully. I have seen too many people who set these to the same value, or seem to be basing them off of whatever the current price is. The system is designed to be "hands free"; you set these prices and let the algorithm figure it out. This way you don't have to babysit your consignment listings yet you still get the best price. Remember that I change my prices regularly, and of course other people can list tokens for consignment as well.

For example, if you see that I have a token listed for $150, you might be tempted to list your token with a low price of $140 and a high price of $145. But what you might not realize is the token is something that is in my build and it is my last token, and it turns out nobody is likely to pay $150 or even $140 for the token. You really should figure out what the lowest price you can accept for it (considering the possible discounts and the TD Tavern commission) and set that as the low price. You should also figure out what you think is a realistic high price that will actually allow the token to sell. In this scenario, you perhaps should list the token as $75 to $125. It will then be listed at $125. But let's say that I pick up a second one of these tokens and lower my price to $100, or somebody else lists the same token at $100. Your price will automatically adjust to $99.95 without any intervention on your part.

What should we do if we want to list a token not in the system?

When you log in to your account and go to the consignment tab and add a new token, you can either select an exiting token or paste in the TokenDB URL for a new one.

Sold my first token through consignment and I am rather happy of the value I got from it.

Great to hear, and thanks for sharing. I really believe for any token worth over $25 or so, it is easier and more profitable than using eBay. I just need to convince more of the people who sell tokens on eBay or that! :)

The TD Tavern consignment program continues to run smoothly. We offer self-service access to view and manage your inventory and control your pricing. All of our pricing rules are automated and we'll make sure to price your tokens to be the next to sell (if your pricing range allows for it). If your consignment token is less expensive than the TD Tavern offering it will be the default choice when a customer adds a token to their cart.

I believe this is the easiest way to recoup money from your unwanted tokens. And depending on the prices you set, it is likely the fastest method, with lower fees than alternatives such as eBay.
