TOPIC: What do you buy for TD besides tokens?

What do you buy for TD besides tokens? 6 years 11 months ago #1

I'm curious what people buy for TD besides tokens? I already sell some great token storage sheets on my website but am curious if there is anything else that people might find convenient to buy from my store?

Any ideas are welcome, either here or via PM.

Thanks!

Besides your token sheets (which hold the tokens much better than the ones on the TD site), I buy 4 ring binders specifically made for those sheets.

For the years I have complete sets (not enough of them!), I buy 3 per year (gold, platinum, & onyx).

I also love the silver cases that hold the tokens. I have a few small and large ones. They're great!

Thanks, Trent! :) I think the cases are too pricey for most people, but I'll probably go ahead and list them and see how it goes.

The 4-ring binders you buy, are they from the same company as the sheets?

Storage systems both short term for the dungeon and long term for hold and transporting.

Name tags which I print stats on so everyone will know their what their tokens do in the dungeon and Max HP.

Apps for character builds.

TICKETS! With the additionally conventions I can say I spend more on tickets than tokens most years. I guess that doesn't really count but it does count toward my TD budget.

I haven't bought them but I know others have bought life counter rings. If there was something better than the paper clips that I could buy for my group to track HP better I would probably pick up ten of them. The rings will not work for my group as I haven't a clue what sizes to get since my group fluctuates on any given run. Also buying 10 to 12 of them is more money I want to spend on something that would get use once a year, though I go to lots of the cons my group only attends Gen Con.

I would probably buy a personalized puck for myself if that were ever an option. I wouldn't buy for my group though. Not certain how it would work besides saying my name or something as I play multiple character classes.

Yeah, same company. But there's a bunch of coin collector sites online that sell them often cheaper. Recently I've used www.ihobb.com .

I love the life counter rings, tool bandits, dansco binders, and individual silver eagle coin holders. Other then custom leather stuff I don't really buy much in the way of token accessories.

I just recently purchased the matching 4 ring binder for the storage sheets which you sell. I would have ordered them from you if you had sold the binders.

Sheets, binders, Plano boxes, backpack, duffel bag, poker chip tubes for consumables, life counter ring, tshirt*, app, badge holder.

*Well I don't have one yet, but I plan to, and they are unavailable online.

Also while I'm posting I would love if someone made some kind of combo badge holder and token holder. Maybe the front has space for the badge with token slots around it and the back has all token slots. For tokens that need to be quickly shown/given to the DM.

I would like to be able to buy things like

Smaller binders to keep rarer tokens in
Magnetic bracelets
A life counter ring would be cool

I'm sure I would buy some of the other stuff others have mentioned.

For long term storage I have separate three ring binders for each year. Inside each binder I use a two part system. First I store each Token in a clear plastic Lighthouse coin capsule. 40mm ones for the chippy Tokens and 39mm ones for the Woodie's. I then insert the coin capsules into clear plastic Lighthouse ENCAP pages. I use the pages that are labeled 38/39. For some reason the ENCAP 38/39 pages hold both the 39mm and 40mm capsules. Each page holds 20 Tokens, so two pages for Commons, 2 pages for Uncommons, 2 pages for Rares and one page for UR's. Then I have additional pages for transmutes, bits, etc. This system works great, allows me to store everything on my book shelves, and provides lots of Token protection. It's not cheap though.

Here are the capsules (39mm ones start on this page):

And here are the pages:

I will try and post some pictures later.

For my builds I use the Dansco binders and pages.

I have purchased token pages, binders, and wallets previously.

I wish more of Molda's Token Wallets were available for sale (Not sure if you can work out some sort of a deal with him - if he resurfaces - but I know his stuff is very durable, and unique.

Among my best TD-related purchases are a trio of "drop bags" made by Ramsildor (IIRC)

They're small (they fit ~30 tokens) and snap shut, and can be clipped to your belt loops or backpack with a carabiner. I use these constantly - for holding treasure coins, or recently drawn treasure - for holding my weapon between combats - for tossing a few potions in so I'll have easy access to them before we go into the Boss fight - etc.
I've also used them for other random things when my hands were full - like putting my spare change in them at the Dealers hall, or some garbage/wrappers when there's no trash can nearby, or my cell phone. Amazingly versatile bags, really.

I recommend these to people every year, but sometimes it's hard to track down their source as Ramsildor is a busy guy!
