So thanks to some good draws at TDC it looks like I will be able to make a relic this year. That leaves me with a choice though, I currently have a +2 baton of focus, and a redoubt mail, so I was thinking of making either a +3 baton of focus, blessed redoubt mail, or an extra ring of heroism (would have to put that order in quick). Anyway, seeking opinions.

Without knowing what you play and who you play with. I would say the Ring of Heroism just because it is going out of rotation the soonest. That is assuming you can get the stuff you need to make one of the other relics before they expire. If not then I would say the mail just because it is more versatile on the characters that can use it.

I would make the Baton if you often play Cleric/Druid. It is excellent.

Also I think there are a lot more Blessed Mails and Rings of Heroism floating around so those shouldn't be difficult to buy later if you wanted to.

I would imagine that if you have a baton of focus that you usually play druid or cleric, and by the mail I'm guessing druid.

I would make the baton first. You would essentially be getting something from it every turn. With +1 to hit amd damage in melee, healing, spell damage, and polymorph damage.

Rings of Heroism are definitely in high supply right now, and with all the ways to get to 5th, that would be a speculative build. A LOT cheaper than the baton though.

I made the Focus Ring first, because it's usable - well, practical - for four characters vs the Baton's two.

But then I realized that I didn't like missing in combat, so did the Baton, too.

If you think you'll be lending out the RoH a lot, I'd do that, but with Charming set, on top of Might & Eldritch sets and the CoH, there are getting to be a lot of paths to level 5, and some of them superior for lower-end builds.

But if it's just an emergency backup loaner, I'd go for Baton. Better in combat, plus better healing.

I'd definitely do the Baton first. You'll have more possibilities to use it in every room with or without combat. Those with combat you have a dual use in the same room. Weapon first then healing aid. The RoH can be purchased later and they are pretty cheap right now because there are so many out there. Well, cheaper to buy than the mail that is. The Charming set is just another way of getting the extra level. Brad is right about a dead monster can't attack so the mail would be the last item to make on my list.
