TOPIC: New Token Fronts for Ultra Rare Tokens

All tokens in the 2017 collection will have "2017" embossed on its back. We did "2016" on only the Ultra Rare tokens in 2016, but we are expanding that to all tokens in the normal 140 piece collection in 2017. In order to differentiate the 2017 Ultra Rare tokens we have designed new "fronts" for these tokens. Instead of round dimples, the UR tokens will have stars going around the edge. The backs will be the same on the URs as is on all tokens in the 2017 collection -- with the normal TD logo and "2017" near the top.

Will other special tokens (teeth, relics, legendaries) have the special front or just URs? I also assume onyx URs will get a starred front?

That's great! Will the stars be on higher rarities than UR? I know they don't need to be since the token backs are a different color, but it would be really neat to have the Relics/Legendary/Eldritch with stars also.

I hope not, Mike. That means a lot of people (myself included) would want to trade in our old Legendaries, Eldritch and Relics for the new ones with the new design. It'd be a uniformity thing for me.

Gold bullion is not so expensive. What about looking into that for the backing of charm of Avarice?

The plan is to only use the star front when it is necessary. So, it will also be used for the 4-start Transmutes (to tell them apart from the other Light Blue 3-start Transmutes), for the 10x Treasure Chip and for the 9th level special token.

Also, I need to point out that I designed these star-filled fronts are not noticeably different than the normal fronts. You kind of have to look close to notice it. I used carefully lighting in the photo to really bring out the stars.
