I fixed the cells issues. I needed to add it to all not just the first few.


I think Chander was conning you. I pulled 80 and got zero commons. If they were supposed to be in there I think I or Fiddy who also pulled 80 would have seen 1.

Thanks, I pulled 2 in front of him and he told me that they're part of the mix now. It wouldn't surprise me if a few were added as less to thin the mix and more as a chance to fail. In his words 'theres always a chance to be random and miss'. Think this was Thurs night if i recall.

Not so sure about commons. I had 224 pulls and never saw one.

Thanks for doing the spreadsheet. I think Origins really saved me for the season. If nothing else, it certainly made me feel much better. After Gen Con and GHC I was averaging about 2.6% for others (less than half the overall average). Origins brought me back up to 4.3% for the season and I feel pretty good about that.

My other percentages were pretty close to the overall average 38.3% rares, 40.3% uncommon and 17.0% on the monster bits. Just a touch over on the uncommons to balance the underage on others.

Commons were part of the treasure boxes at Origins. The staff manning the station emphatically replied when asked about repulling after pulling a common that commons were just an unlucky pull and you do not get to re-pull.

Does anyone know if this will continue at GenCon?

It should not.
On the off-chance that it does and the person supervising the pulls does not allow you to re-draw, ask them to call for a Director.

Will point them in that direction if I remember.

Several folks went away disappointed at Origins. The pulls occurred next to the checkin desk.

A simple sign on the treasure box would go a long way to avoiding this.

One showed up when I was doing pulls, but Lori was my treasure handler and she immediately set it aside and gave me another pull.

Sounds like miscommunication.

After the incidents, intentional or not, the word was spread to a number of players due to the policy change, incorrect or not.

The first time i pulled a common it was Thurs night when i had permission and was filling in on a short last party of the day. Figured Chandler knew it and just busting my about it. When i pulled common on my Fri run and he said no redraw figured it was new unannounced part of the treasure mix. Didn't surprise it was diluted down for the 'budget' cons so didn't think twice about till i filled in sheet and Jedibcg said it shouldn't have happened.
