That's a great question, but it's a rule question for Jeff, not a TDb question for me.
Have you looked it up in the TDb ?

Re: MeC - I'm not sure what the old wording was, but is this new:

doubling the base* damage of a spell cast from their character card (not a scroll or item)

I thought it was explicitly stated in the past you can use MeC on Ring of Spell Storing spells, and hopefully Crown of Expertise spells.

As an AC I would rule the MEC could be used on a spell cast via the Crown - it is cast as a spell, after all.

Druegar,

Now that the Viper Strike Pants are 100% a thing, should the wording on the Viper Strike Set be updated? Specifically the bonuses for Rogues and Monks?

Previously the set always included at least one Viper Strike Fang. It is now possible to get the set bonus without equipping any of the Viper Strike weapons.

Can we make it more clear that the Rogue and Monk bonuses require the use of a VSF?

I can see Rogues specifically making that mistake because I almost made it myself until I double checked the wording.

Something like this?
Note: In order for monks or rogues to benefit from their respective Viper Strike set bonuses, their attack must be made with a Viper Strike fang and the character must be under the influence of the Viper Strike set bonus. Attacks made with a Viper Strike fang while not under the influence of the Viper Strike set do not gain the aforementioned bonuses.

That's perfect, thank you!

Should "Scroll Detect Magic" be marked "Limited Use: Obsolete"? I was just reading the TGC (pg. 118) and it mentions that it's no longer useful. A similar note for "Potion Detect Magic" doesn't exist, but it looks like it should apply to that, too.

I assume these went obsolete at the same time as Scroll Light and Potion Darkvision (UC/R).

Edits:

Should "Feedback Loop" be marked "Limited Use: Obsolete" as mentioned in the TGC?
"Special (UC)" probably needs "Limited Use: Turn In At Start" like the others, even though it's obsolete and doesn't matter.

As always, thank you for your service - and feel free to ignore if I've missed an obvious explanation.

Detect Magic tokens can still be used as described in their TDb descriptions. Granted, that information probably won't be of much use, but they're not technically obsolete. Jeff could very easily put something in a room that made use of them. I'd be quite surprised if Eric has not made them useful in Grind.

I'm not sure why one would think Feedback Loop is obsolete. It's most definitely still usable as long as it has a charge remaining. (I don't know what a "TGC" is in this context.)

Special (UC) is now flagged as turn in at start.

Token Guide Compendium, released recently. Page 319 lists the Feedback Loop as retired, but perhaps this is not the same as obsolete (though I highly doubt it given that page’s context). Scroll Detect Magic is explicitly listed as obsolete on page 118. Both Potion Detect Magic and Wand Detect Magic have the same description there, but lack the obsolete mention.

I certainly will accept that these are really specific misprints in the TGC, and I can mention it in the thread devoted to that if needed.

Please also add "Limited Use: Expendable" and "Limited Use: Has Charges" to "Wand of the Sirocco".

Badge of Nobility now clearly specifies that it can only be used if the player has reached 9th-level.
