TOPIC: Best Ways to Hold Tokens

Best Ways to Hold Tokens 9 years 10 months ago #1

What are the token/coin binders people use again? I need to get some for this year. I'm tired of people juggling/losing tokens.

Also, it may be worth making a sticky with the many options for token holding.

Coin wallets. I am sure someone will post a link.
Binia's Token Sashes
Molda's Token Wallets
Plano Sinker separators. I highly recommend this. They have 5 unscrewable sections. They can hold the token weight, unlike the bead holders from Hobby Lobby.

Since I have some rather expensive tokens now, I use Dansco 41mm coin pages in a Dansco album. The tokens are 40mm so the 41mm allows them to pop out easily.

The albums have slide in plastic protectors so there is almost zero chance of a token falling out. I guess it could happen but it would be a one in a million chance. The largest album holds 7 pages comfortably with tokens inserted. Each page holds 9 tokens and they are visible from both sides through the plastic. I can outfit my main character and have lots of room for variants.

I get mine from Wizard Coin Supply as they seem to always be lower priced than the Dansco site.

I use a couple of the flexible plastic coin wallets for consumables such as scrolls and potions.

I use the Plano lure and sinker storage boxes, and have a small one with a handle that will hold about 150 tokens that I use for my consumables, and store all my gear with variants.

I like the HE Harris and Co 24 Pocket Coin Wallet . It's small and lighter than the cardboard backed holders. They also slot in from the spine side of the page, so they don't fall out. That is also the reason I wouldn't go with a bigger than 24 wallet cause they load from the top, which leads to lost tokens.

And at $2.50 each from these guys, I ordered 30 and just handed them out to my party.

Agree. We have Dansco book dedicated one to each character. We bought the largest available and they hold 8 pages comfortably (72 tokens). It is initially kind of expensive but, to me, it is the best way to carry ones tokens securely in the dungeon. This way we can focus on the fun in the dungeon rather than worrying about losing our tokens.

On the crafty and/or cheaper side for newbies, cardboard tubes from toilet paper or paper towels work great. Seal one end beforehand, and then I used a wadded paper towel as a stopper for the other end. Made 2 "scroll tubes" to hold scrolls and healing potions last year.

I've used the HE Harris Coin wallets inside Molda's nice leather wallets for my character. I use two of them now in order to hold all of my tokens. And last year I made up a dozen of these each holding my simplified best builds for every single class. (Simplified, beacuse they only hold 24 tokens.)

As for the Dansco books, I really like the look of them and they seem great for browsing someone's build, but in the dungeon I really value having my hands free. So even though it would be fitting for my wizard character to be carrying around a large tome, I'd need some way to secure it to my belt in order to want to use it.

One thing I just bought a couple days ago are these stack-able bead trays that I plan to use for scrolls. Each section can hold 6 tokens, so I was thinking I could organize my scrolls easier this way instead of having them all loose in a bag.

Adeya,

Those bead holders are garbage. They can't handle the weight of the tokens. Find the Plano holders that look like them. Fishing shops are a great spot.

I wouldn't trust the bead holders alone. My plan was to still keep them in a sack.

I still like cargo shorts with the velvet bags in different pockets for things. Grind is a bit different, I burn a lot of consumables there and use one of the Plano divider trays.
