So I am thinking of converting how I store some of my tokens. In particular the ones that are taken on runs but never used. The ones that you show the coach and then put away. That stat boosters.

I had purchased some of the pages from the TD store when I first bought tokens a few years ago. No offense to Jeff but the quality on them is lacking. My tokens broken many of the individual slots within a few weeks. I decided they were not the best option and started storing my tokens differently. However I comeback to almost everyone recommending album or binder for these types of tokens.

I have see many different options pages online for storing tokens. With them being online though it is difficult to tell the quality and if they would work. As you know TD tokens are thicket than a standard coin. So I am looking for recommendations on brands of pages people prefer.

Thanks ahead of time.

One thing I've seen before is coin wallets. 1x4 for silver half dollars that the tokens will fit into. Makes a great way if you want to put sets together for people and have them be able to show them to GM's and such at the begining and then you can put the wallet in one pocket of a pair of jeans.

As a side note:

The way I take my tokens in are in a fishing tackle box that has a handle to it. I believe mine is about 7-8 inches wide and about 10-11 inches long. It is only as thick as one token standing on end, and I can pack all my potions/scrolls/misc tokens in there.

I am the token provider/mule for my entire group. Last year we weighed most of the tokens we were carrying around after GenCon (which included pulls for Sunday's run only) and it was about 50lbs. So if there is anyway we could actually show the tokens and then throw them into storage it would be even nicer....lol.

Don't carry any tokens that don't equip on the builder that arn't consumable. Limit your consumables to only that which you might need in that run.

50lbs is a lot but maybe not so bad if its divided between 10 people, so divide and conqurer. :)

It wasn't just dungeon run tokens also trades, the pulls and anything else that was thrown at me on Sunday. We took turns carrying the bag to the car because it was a bit of a walk and 50 is alot on a shoulder. It wasn't what was being carried into the dungeon just the GenCon tokens.

I hear you - I provide and carry the party's tokens also, and it is a VERY heavy binder! It got to the point this year that some of the pages ran out of room, and I didn't outfit all the possible tokens. This year I'm considering splitting it into two binders, I'll carry the one with the UR's, and someone else will carry the other one. That's if I can find a binder like mine again (shoulder strap, zips shut). At Gary's recommendation I got my current one at Target, but it seems they don't carry them anymore.

For tokens that are shown to the coach then put away for the run, I use plastic coin tubes with screw-on lids, sized at 40 mm (generally used for the American Eagle, Walking Liberty, or Canadian Maple Leaf series of coins). These are easy to find online or at coin shops, and only cost about 50 cents each.

One of those will hold 16 or 17 tokens. So, two tubes are usually enough for me to store all of my primary equipment - classless items and my 1st choice class items - as well as a few items for other classes if I can't play my first choice for some reason. The two tubes (plus a few extra tokens) fit nicely into a tube-shaped pencil case such as this:

...which is easy to toss into a messenger bag or even "fannypack".

So, now that my stat-boosting gear is out of the way, what about weapons, thrown items, and various misc. things that I want to keep on hand? I use a magnetic arm-band. The magnets in this thing are really quite strong, primarily intended to be used for mechanics to keep tools and nuts and bolts handy or from getting lost.

But this thing is just to hold thrown items, maybe one or two potions. You know; a bit of stuff to keep immediately handy, but not too many items. (Also, although the magnets are strong I don't store purples on this thing. I'm probably just being paranoid, but I keep worrying that if someone brushes up against me they might dislodge one.)

Most of my healing is kept in a leather pouch hanging on my belt. Fermented Frost Berries and the like, so I can just grab a handful right after battle when me and my friends want to top up our HP.

Inside of this healing pouch, I have a few smaller drawstring pouches (such as from the starter token packs at the beginning of a run) that keep the more significant healing items (Red scrolls and potions) separate from the mass of tiny healers.

Finally, the majority of my potions, oils, scrolls and other misc. items that don't necessarily need to be that immediately available I put in plastic pages. I personally prefer the ones put out by Whitman. I find them very thick and more sturdy than the default ones from TD.

Click the above pic to go to the Amazon.com page for them. I can roll up 3 of these pages, and slip them into a leather thermos-carrier to sling over my shoulder as a sort of "scroll case"! :D

I hope at least some of these ideas help you out!

Thanks Ian, but your last sample worked out just fine. It'll be a couple more months before you can pass any sort of drug test.

If you're getting anything from a hobby store, I suggest packing along a Duck to make sure they fit. There are several "dollar" sizes, and some are a millimeter smaller than others, and that's all it takes for it to not work.

Evolution

In the beginning our gods bestowed upon us dice bags and life was good so we gave praise to jeffdom.

Later in life we acquired 3 ring binders with zippers but we became burdened with our ever growing assortment of goods.

Minimizing the collection carried we moved onto Molda wrapped coin wallets - but one only has so many super sized pockets.

Then we commissioned Sam Waller of RDI to do some custom work on tooled leather magnetic holders - what a work of art!

Going even lighter Binia was kind enough to craft a shoulder sash.

Finally we moved to a Dansco coin book in a leather messenger bag of holding. Slightly heavier than a loaded shoulder sash - however it feels more secure to us.

And if all else fails, mules (aka mercenaries) are the cost of a ticket - just be certain to hire one with a good back.
