Last year's special GT surprise was in the forum of a bonus room (with a puzzle to solve: the same "plates on the wall" time-related puzzle which made its way into this year's dungeon) and when the party solved the puzzle, they were allowed to choose from a selection of face-down buttons. * Immune to Fire for the whole Con
* +3 to saves for the whole Con
* Ability to play the Assassin class

I got to play as 4th level for the Con. And I still have the button, too.
Applications programming is a race between software engineers, who strive to produce idiot-proof programs, and the Universe, which strives to produce bigger idiots. 

So far, the Universe is winning.

It is kind of sad how things have gone way down hill for gold tickets.

Two years ago you got to draw from the deck of many things and get a permanent power.

Last year you got a button that gave you a special power for the entire con.

This year Mike Steele got a fish.

Please explain the fish. Golden Ticket holders still get a starting pack of tokens that most people would kill for so I wouldn't complain too much.

One member of each group got a "red herring," a plastic fish.

The Golden Ticket bag of tokens this year included one of each 2012 ingredient and one of each trade/combo item.

In years past, there has always been an UR in the bag, too. The last couple years, it was a Rod of Seven parts segment. Was that not in this year's bag?

I also though that the Dragonhide Shirt (normally a Volunteer-only token) was part of the Golden Ticket token bag.

Oops, you're right- my mistake. The Rod segment and Dragonhide Shirt were in the bag. That's a significant oversight.

As for the declining "value" of gold ticket runs, I have to disagree. The list provided by Raven suggests everything was nice. The deck of many things was 50% bad. And, as I recall the gold ticket run, it was more like 60-70% of the picks were of the bad sort.

To add to the list of buttons from last year, I got the 20,000 GP and I think someone else got something like "All weapons count as +3 for the Con."
