Since it sounds like there will be lore tokens again, I'd like to reiterate what has been mentioned before about adding something to do with the extras. Especially when the lore tokens were in the free bag that comes with the run, they take up a potentially useful item for newbies. One idea I have been seeing a lot is to give them a small GP value, something like 5 or 10 GP. This would be pretty easy to do by just adding the text in the bottom like some of the other GP valued items. As long as it is thought through from the start we can make sure it doesn't add more GP to the economy than usual. Unfortunately, that doesn't help with the lore tokens from this year as retroactively adding a GP value to those would add too much extra GP to the economy in my opinion.

As an idea for this year's extra Lore tokens, how about using them for combo's next year? They could even be used in a similar way to how the condensed cards worked this year by allowing a Lore token to replace any common in next year's recipes.

Yeah, Lore tokens should have a trade-in or GP value in the future.

Since he said reprint I thought he meant Boots of Free Action, since there never has been a Ring of Free Action.  A Ring would be cool though also.

I know this takes some time, but I was hoping to have access to the 5th level forums by the time tokens were being developed. I hit 5th level on my first (or maybe second) run this year.

For an underwater adventure, there are a lot of things that adventurers may want to take with them.  Considerations need to be taken for these physicalities.
Breathing:  Potion of Water Breathing, Ioun Stone of Water Breathing and a common necklace of water breathing (with 3 charges).  I think the necklace looks stronger than the potion on the surface, but it does take up the neck slot (which for token collectors is already full, and they will probably have the ioun stone anyway.)

Movement:  common:  boots of swimming (allows normal movement, but not attacks underwater), uncommon:  belt of weight (when wearing this belt underwater, you are immovable to current and gain a +2 to saves vs attacks that may sweep you away), Oil of Buoyancy:  (armor is weightless underwater, conferring normal movement and attacks for adventure.  Turn in training room.) rare:  Boots of Free Action, Ring of Free Action, Runestone of the Eel: (confers freedom of movement underwater and +1 shock damage to metal melee weapons when underwater)

Spoilage:  common:  Bone Scroll Case (protects scrolls from water damage--reprint)  I think that a Potion protector needs a printing as well, but with the Alchemist's Pouch so rare, it should be a trade in item or maybe an UR.

I will go and add some ideas to the specific threads instead of clogging this one up further.

Here are some tokens that we might want to reprint these tokens as I think they will be useful underwater.


1) Potion of Water Breathing

2) Ioun Stone that allows to exist without air

3) Ring of Free Action (allows player to swing in water without penalty)

And I am sure there are others.



#1 and #2 currently exist a good numbers. I could see maybe re-doing the Common Potion just for newbies to have cababiltiies, but would rather see the 2011 Ioun Stone have differenet capabilites.

Would #3 work the same as Boots of Free Action?

Other ingredients -
Aboleth Slime
Inert Crystal Ooze
Fish Scale (or Locath/Sahuagin scale)
Mermaid Hair

Common Items-
Sushi or Fried Fish (rations) +1 to hp or the like
50' of Fishing line
Fishing pole
Whetstone

Uncommon (or possibly crafted) Items-
Goggles - allows user to fore go any penalties applied due to vision skew underwater
Snorkle - reduces damage applied due to underwater conditions by 1 per round/room?
Fins - reduces any movement penalties due to water conditions by 1?


Common Weapons/armor -
Filet Knife
Trident
Fishnet (net plus hooks) causes monster to loose turn and does 1 point of damage single use item usable by ranger, druid and barbarian (go team wilderness)
Shark skin shield +1 AC (does not rust)
Shark leather armor +2 AC (does not rust)
Merfolk scale armor  +3 or 4 AC (does not rust)

Uncommon weapons/armor are Masterwork versions of above, Rares are magical (+1, possibly adds free action for armor?).
