if someone wants to post a dream build for a barbarian, i would appreciate it. while my collection is extensive, my knowledge is limited. i only build my character one time for the con, which means that i don't change anything between the different runs.

I'm assuming that Smak's bringing his charm, so remember that you lot will all be 5th level, irregardless of your gear. Also note that I have a full set of 10 Charm of Synergy, so it might be good if you leave a slot free for one, or bring your own.

Here's my current setup for the Dwarf Fighter -

+2 Dread Sword
Orb of Might
+2 Light Crossbow of Frost
Crown of Might
Lenses of True Sight
Horn of Plenty
Dougal's Cloak of the Stars
Silverweave Shirt
Plate Armor of Attack
Bracers of Fire
Mithral Gauntlets
Supreme Ring of Elemental Command
Ring of Improved Evasion
Girdle of Frost Giant Strength
Boots of Free Action
Ioun Stone Beryl Prism
Ioun Stone Topaz Trilliant
Ioun Stone Topaz Sphere
Ioun Stone Lavender Ellipsoid
Ioun Stone Faceted Amber
Rod of Seven Parts, Segment 1
Rod of Seven Parts, Segment 2
Rod of Seven Parts, Segment 3
Rod of Seven Parts, Segment 4
Rod of Seven Parts, Segment 5
Pouch of Tulz
Questor's Charm of Luck
Charm of Synergy
Wil's Dragonheart
Earcuff of Salvation

....

Wil's Dragonheart will be swapped for the Draco-Lich claw if I get it in time.

With the Trillant and the Sphere, I'll be at -20 to Darkrift damage, and with the Improved Evasion from the ring coupled with the -10 elemental damage from the Supreme Ring, I'll be able to weather any lightning bolts coming my way.

Pouch of Tulz will be for a Stoneskin Salve at the beginning of the boss fight to give me one get-out-of-jail card.
Blimey!

I'll look into this now, anybody have any thoughts or preferences if we should go full 2 handed approach or the +2 Hammer of Thunderbolts? (Or something else?)

Thanks,

I'd definitely go for a Cestus at the start of the battle, then take the two-handed route.
Blimey!

i was thinking the great club of bashing and mighty longbow.how does Jmartin's nightmare damage revelation affect this? if nobody can see any reason to change it and it is a good compromise for giants travail AND draco, i'm good to go.

Hey Smak,
The main reason I chose the dire axe vs the great club is the following:

dwarven dire axe:
w/ brawler's mug

6-14dmg vs regular
avg dmg:9.2
avg dmg to larger creatures than man size: 9.2
avg dmg vs giants:12.2

Great Club of Bashing:

3-12dmg vs regular
avg dmg: 7.5
avg dmg to larger creatures than man size: 10.5
avg dmg to giants: 10.5

Now I dont know a TON about D&D v1.0 or how prevalent "larger than man sized creatures" are, or will be in the dungeon, but the bottom line is if there are a lot, the club will win out, but only slightly (on average). If you are a kick butt slider, you can actually improve the average more dramatically with the club as it has a higher damage wheel on the right side than the axe.

That aside, it does take up your 2nd hand - which gives the axe a better average vs giants and regular creatures. Personally if you are ok with juggling 3 tokens for your mele - since you CAN swap those - i'd play it by ear. Man size or giants? stick with mug & axe - larger than man size but NOT a giant? bashing time...

Just my two cents =)

You could also sacrafice the ring of riches for a ring that would give you increased sacred damage to two handed weapons but i personally wouldnt...

I'll look into the mighty bow later on tonight =)

Thanks, Smak!
