The Amulet of Wonder will have a new effect this year. In years' past the effect was a random bonus determined by a special die. This year the effect will be a static one.

Due to the intense amount of dwarven magic in the area, the AoW bestows upon its wearer these dwarven bonuses:

- +2 to all Saving Throws
- +4 hit points
- Use any weapon with "Dwarven" in the name. For example, this allows Clerics to use bladed Dwarven weapons, and Wizards can use a +2 Dwarven Dire Axe.

UPDATED NOTE
: Rules still apply for one and two handed weapon restrictions. So your character cannot yield two two-handed weapons. Rangers limits to off-handed weapons must still abide by the rule that it must list the Rogue as being able to use the weapon.

These must be presented to the Coach at the start of your coaching session so they can make adjustments on the Party Card.

Excellent, Jeff!
Fits the "Different Cool Effect Each Year" perfectly. Happy to see a static effect, and the dwarven magic infusion is a clever twist.

Wow, that's a powerful cool effect. Cant wait to see what variations people come up with.

So based on the wording "Use any weapon with "Dwarven" in the name" does that mean a Ranger could dual wield (aka use) a heavier Dwarven weapon in their off hand with the AOW this year?

Yeah, that's pretty cool.

Good question. TPTB will need to weigh-in, but since the Rogue can also equip it I think the Ranger can equip it in the off-hand slot.

Of course the Ranger would be the issue. Can a Ranger use a 2 handed dwarven weapon?

Jeff, it can be worked out the way it is. However, I would suggest changing it to something like "all weapons with Dwarven in the name get +1/+2." I believe every class has access to Dwarven weapons . . .

Though you have to admit a ranger with dual wielding +2 Dire Axes or a mage with a Heavy dwarven crossbow would be cool

I added this to the first post. I hope it answers your good questions.

So, to clarify, the melee weapon token must actually list the Rogue on it to be useable in the Ranger's off-hand slot. The fact that a Rogue wearing an Amulet of Wonder could equip a +2 Dwarven Dire Axe has no bearing on the Ranger's equipment options, correct?

Correct.

Since the +2 Dwarven Dire Axe is a one-handed weapon, it could be used in the Ranger's main weapon slot...since Rangers, under the AoW effect, can use any weapon that has "Dwarven" in its name.

So, a Ranger in 2012 with an AoW could duel-wield a +1 Dwarven Dirk (off-hand) [it is usable by a rogue] and a +2 Dwarven Dire Axe [it is a one-handed weapon with "Dwarven" in the name].
