BTW....is it just me or are the forums deader now than when I left? I would have thought with event reg the place would be hopping but a lot of the old faces seem to be gone and there's not nearly as many posts.

I think a lot of people have these "real life" commitments that keep getting in the way of what is really important ... gaming. You haven't been on the boards for awhile either. November/december was a mess last year with things to do and just general chaos. Visiting a forum is like a habit and if you go too long without, it's like you forget to go back and you start doing other things.

I'm sad to see that despite me being back now, so many others are gone. I'm also getting sort of concerned about whether I'd be able to fill these slots too. I figured everything would be hopping and it'd be a great chance to run with forumites again. Instead, it seems that a lot of other people are just AWOL.

In past years it's been an absolute feeding frenzy. Incognito was blaming the forum technical problems for maybe causing a lull that has reversed since then. I'm hoping it may bring some of the old timers back to the table. It'd be nice to see them all again.

I only posted one run on the forums but it filled up within hours of posting (less than half a day). Of course, it was supplemented by additional PM/email/phone efforts but it still went by pretty quick!

I have noticed several changes in behavior (compared to last year) regarding how players are going about securing their runs....

I only had a passing interest for years but got roped into the culture and other aspects. Anime, manga, and just the general contradictions and weirdness that makes up the Japanese people. So, when you tell people you live in Japan, how many immediately ask you if those used panty vending machine really exist?
