I think it would be a pleasant addition to have certain tokens be tradeable for some fun TD merchandise. For example, trade in 25 pewter mugs and get an actual True Dungeon mug. What you would have to do could be different than that. Another idea might be send in a Belt Pouch token and 1000 gold and get an official True Dungeon belt pouch (a quality pouch designed to carry tokens in the actual dungeon).

I don't know how much interest there would be, but I think it worth considering.

Maybe have a PYP option that isn't a token, but instead some special piece of TD merchandise?

Id enjoy it if the modules were available as pyp option for those of us who don't put in large enough orders to proc free copies.

I bet Molda would make you a belt pouch for a token and 1000GP. His leather work is high quality too. Shoot him a PM.

I actually picked up a set of 5 TD cups from the treasure token table last year. Plastic, but heavy and very nice quality to them.
Blimey!

It would be kind of neat to have a way to turn in the mass amount of some common token for an actual real life version of it. Mugs would be the easiest. Turn in 25 mugs for a TD mug. I like this idea.

I have thought quite a bit about the subject in general and this item in particular. Making the pouch with that particular clasp would not be too difficult, but finding the emblem on the front has had me scratching my head about where to find one like it.
A few years back I wanted to acquire a Goblet of Healing like the one pictured and contacted Jeff about where he got the one for the picture. He sent me the info for the dealer. It turned out to be an outfit based in the UK and would have cost me around $80.+ at the time to buy one and have it sent over here. At the time, it was well out of my reach, now not so much.
I am sure some of the token pics are computer generated but not all. That may be a lucrative sideline for TD to consider. I mean the actual sale of duplicate items. Trading tokens for such items would probably be a losing proposition though.

One million feet of silk rope- you get 25 feet of silk rope.

The rum trade ins might be tricky and cause problems.

You might need to have a cash element involved, like turning in the tokens gives you the option to buy the item. For instance, turning in 25 Mug tokens lets you buy a Mug for $10, and the only way you can buy one of these mugs is to have the necessary tokens plus cash (making it a neat limited item). I don't see it helping True Dungeon if it loses True Dungeon money, but if it can break even or make a profit for True Dungeon it could be win-win.

I would be interested in doing something like that, I would totally turn in things like the backpack, pouch, mug, goblet, torch, challis, or a myriad of other things on the tokens.

However, whatever Jeff chose to do would have to be pretty cool. Didn't he lose his shirts on the last mugs he sold?

I think he did take a loss. I'd suggest whatever TD Merchandise Jeff buys to sell be evergreen, so that he can sell it in the TD Shop over a period of time. I suspect if Jeff hadn't cleared the mugs out, he might have sold out by now at the full price, given the large increase in TD fans and supporters since 2005. There are a bunch of merchandise you can buy pretty cheap and sell at a high profit margin. If you had the True Dungeon runs end up a Shop, like Disney does after the rides, you might get a lot of impulse buys from TD Players before they head off for their other GENCON events.
