A question for the TD experts...

I noticed that there are ways to overcome Incorporeal creatures with weapons (Spirit Runestone, Oil of Ghost Touch), but how does one overcome this hurdle with spells?

Do spells that 'Automatically Hit' also suffer this penalty?

The notation for scroll of magic missile (on page 75 of the token guide) also mentions that "A magic missile suffers no 50% miss chance again non-corporeal monsters like ghosts"

The ring of the ram (page 107 in the token guide) also says "It allows the combatant a guaranteed hit against non-corporeal undead, so the 50% miss chance does not apply"

I suspect these would be your go to spell effects for non-corporeal creatures and all other spell effects would be subject to the 50% miss chance for magical attacks mentioned in the condition summary (page 40 of the DMG)

Given the age and rarity of the ring of the ram magic missiles may be your only practical option.

(Though I think a case could be made for the wand of forcebolts given that magic missiles are themselves described as forcebolts even though there are no rules to support it beyond the RP similarity in the description of their damage types.)

Per Jeff, unless the spell specifically says otherwise, all spells must overcome the 50% miss chance.

What about Wand of Forcebolts? It is kind of a Ring of Ram redux.
