True Adventures, Ltd. Expands True Dungeon™

Carbondale – (October 12, 2011) True Adventures, Ltd. has reached an agreement with Gen Con LLC to expand True Dungeon™ into a much larger event space inside the Indiana Convention Center. The four-year agreement gives True Dungeon™ a new home that will allow them to continue to push the boundaries of their unique style of immersive gaming.

“Gen Con Indy 2012 will be our 10th annual True Dungeon™ event, as well as Gen Con’s 45th anniversary, and I am incredibly excited about how our new location will help us celebrate these important milestones,” said Jeff Martin, CEO/Owner of True Adventures, Ltd. “True Dungeon will be an exciting celebration of Gen Con’s 45th anniversary as True Dungeon expands with an immersive story-scape area that players can enjoy before and after each two-hour adventure.”

“It will be possible for a group of gamers to spend an entire day immersed inside True Dungeon. They could arrive in the morning, speak with some NPCs for useful rumors, and then attempt to make magic items, gather information and obtain protective magic with a new event called “Truecraft,” noted Martin.

“After that, they could enjoy one of our famous two-hour adventures, and then they can sit down for a nice lunch. A little later they could take on the epic challenge of True Grind, and then they can enjoy a round of adult beverages as they boast of their incredible victory. Next, they could delve into a different two-hour adventure that would bring them back into the story-scape area at dinner time. A quick meal and more drinks could then be enjoyed – as well as another session of “Truecraft”. In short, gamers can spend the entire day immersed in True Dungeon’s fantasy setting.” said Martin. Washroom facilities will be available inside the event space.

BTW, the hotel rooms for the volunteers will be the same as last year.

This announcement is 10 years in the making. A new chapter in TD is opening in 2012, and I am very excited about how much fun we will be providing in 2012. I know that the 10 players per group was not a popular thing -- but it makes this exciting expansion possible for 2012 and beyond.

More details to come next week. I am away on vacation this week!

You need to do something ala Medieval Times for the True Brawl. Have people in cheering sections, maybe wagering tokens, lol. Oh yeah, make us eat with our hands as well

It is going to be next to a place that we can enjoy 'adult beverages', so I would guess closer to where the Colts VIP lounge was. I owe Raven a drink, so she may appreciate that a bit more then a coffee/soda.

As for TD being a "longbow shot away" from the new vender hall... Longbows could cover a lot of ground! It wouldn't surprise me at all if the old dealer's hall is *exactly* where TD ends up.

I'm thinking especially of the fact that it wass being renovated inside (which is why it was closed off last August, I think) and that it has doors facing the Hallway to the new Dealers hall (as opposed to the main doors everyone is used to, which faced the Marriott&pedways). If its doors were facing the GenCon HQ area, and everyone passed them between getting their badge and heading to the dealer's hall, it would actually be a pretty sweet location.

I'll admit, I'm really curious about this "TrueCraft" ... is it going to be something tied into to the combo tokens (making "powerful magics") or something else entirely?

And if it is not directly tied into tokens, will it give bonuses that affect you only in this year's dungeon(s), or something more permanent? (I guess I'm thinking of some sort of "Deck-of-many-things" scenario)

I wonder how long this thread will get all the speculation before Jeff can post specific details!
