So, I have a question... a token I traded for broke in transit.

Am I able to trade the broken one for the same item at the Con?

I am assuming the token is still legible, if so I do not see why it can't be used. As far as trading one out goes, that would have to be played out at the con, it will depend on the stock and availablility. I am, of course, subject to Jeff's will and censure.

Well, its a +1 Quarterstaff.

Its hard to slide a broken token. Its literally in two pieces.

Damn US postal system. I don't understand how those incompetant wankers could have snapped the token. What did they do....prop it up so it was exactly verticle and then drop a crate on it?

Again, Kor. If you can't get it swapped out I'd take a tap back.

It helps to have token envelopes hand stamped - don't just slap two stamps on.

When they are stamped by hand they avoid going through the machines that stamp the stamp - confused, me too.

Just take tokens inside and have the Postal Worker ring up the postage.

That's what I've been doing, going to the post office and having them do the postage. Not for any reason really, just seemed like the right thing to do. heh

Well, they also go through the sorting machines, the ones that read the zip code and other things now. This can put a lot of pressure on the contents of the envelope. I was sending tokens out in an envelope, but after I got one where the outside of the envelope over the token was kinda black from something I decided I would send future tokens in a bubble mailer thingy instead.

It can also take a long time to deliver an envelope if it gets spit out of the sorting machine and someone has to read it by hand.

I've been sending tokens in big, padded envelopes--as Gary and Indy can attest too. Its a bit overkill, perhaps, but it keeps them safe.

Ben:

I will replace the broken token. I'll have to look through my "stash" and see if I have one now, and if not, we'll replace it on the next run of tokens.

I'll get in touch with you soon.
