If a character drinks a potion of leaping, do they still lose a turn before they can attack due to having wade through snow? I'd think they wouldn't, since they would be able to leap over the snow.

If that is the case, and if you don't have Boots of Free Action or some other way to counter the snow effect, it seems your best bet is to spend that first turn drinking the potion of leaping, if there is any chance of a flying monster in that room.

The current version of the Quick Token Reference (page 10) addresses your question. I'd link to it, but the link will cause my post to be invisible.

ETA: Looks like the link issue has been fixed.

Thanks. The short answer is that the Potion of Leaping is one of the tokens that would negate the snow penalty of not being able to attack the first round.

Interestingly, it looks like you can take any non-melee action that first round and then attack as normal the second round. You don't need to spend a lost turn slogging through the snow. You can make a ranged attack, cast a spell, drink a potion, etc.

I did notice the guide doesn't mention that the 5th Level Barbarian is immune to the Cold Effects due to Damage Resistance (unless I missed it).

Per Jeff, 5th-level barbarians are not inherently immune to Cold Climate effects. None of the Cold Climate effects cause damage.

I'm glad to get that clarification, because I was designing our Barbarian under the previous guidance on the forums that the cold didn't affect 5th Level Barbarians. It still seems like it shouldn't, as anything that prevents even just one point of cold damage will stop the cold effects, and the Barbarian's Toughness stops one point of Cold Damage.
