Several forumites have mentioned using proxies for UR weapons they lend out. I was wondering if there was an official TD stance on this? Has anyone else done this successfully.

Also, if you do this, please share your creation of the proxies. Are you peeling the sticker off of a common or just pasting a proxy copy on?

That could be another part of a business model for TD.

Register a bank of tokens, like select Ultra rares and allow them to be used by proxy within the runs. Maybe one per player as a maximum, and write it directly to a character sheet.

Collectors and serious players will still go after their own sets.
But if a group of new players, or a new player who wants to join a group of purple players, want a more potent token have a "rentable" section for maybe 5 or 10 bucks a run.

Brad that will never happen...then sales would go down on tokens.

To clarify, by the proxies I mean a token I have in my pocket/binder/token wallet/ treasure sack that I want to lend another player on my run. The only sticker is I don't want to chance a UR getting lost in the dark or growing legs.

I understood that. I was clarifying more for Brad or people who thought you and I could pool our tokens and 'proxy' outfit a party.

i am totally against proxies in any way. my reason is quite simple...i received several in a trade. they were really well done copies, it was just obvious that they were copies. when i contacted the person about aborting the trade and switching back...well, lets just say it was all bad.

-if proxies are not made, they will be less likely to get in the mix.
-if you value your tokens that much, maybe you should leave them at home or not loan them out.
-if you tokens are that valuable, perhaps they should stay in a safety deposit box in a bank.
-the more proxies being made the more likely someone will receive them by "accident" and then be out roughly $2000.00 in other tokens.

Agreed. That would also be a headache for the volunteers, and slow down the party card creation.

There is a difference between proxies and fakes. Smak, what you are describing is a fake. If EN's proxies were done in black and white instead of color, would that be less of an issue?

black and white sounds good. i only need one real token to make 1-10 copies. but thats okay, because we could slow down the coaching process while they verify everything...on top of figuring out the stats of players.

I agree with Smak. Proxy tokens are a bad idea.

Honestly in most of the cases where you want to loan out a token to someone but you don't trust to keep track of it/return it/ etc your better very likely better off loaning out a red, bastard swords aren't that bad.
