Quick Token Guide Erratum: The incorrect image for the Gloves of the Cabal was shown on the website and the various guides. The correct image is now shown, but some token collectors may have picked it as an UR choice with a large order -- and they may wish to change it. These people are being contacted so that they have the opportunity to exchange their original Gloves of the Cabal for another UR if they wish. I am very sorry for any inconvenience.

Gloves of the Cabal
Wearer may affect one additional target with a single-target scroll. Only single-target scrolls are affected by these gloves. Scrolls that inherently affect more than one target do not benefit from this item, even if there is only one eligible target. All eligible scrolls the wearer casts are affected. The rarity of the scroll that can be affected is based on the total number of GotC worn in the party, as shown on the table below. The affected rarity levels are cumulative.
GotC in Party
Scroll Rarity
1–2 Common
3–4 Uncommon/Common
5 Rare/Uncommon/Common
The gloves cannot be used to affect the same target twice with the same scroll. (If the caster has more than one copy of a scroll, subsequent castings may affect the target again, but only once per casting.) As long as the scroll is otherwise eligible, the scroll’s spell may be of any variety. (e.g., buff, damage, heal, etc.)
If the scroll requires a combat slide, you must make one attack for each target. The attack slides are resolved independently. I.e., if one attack misses, that target will be unaffected, but the other target could be affected if that attack hits. If the scroll allows a saving throw, both targets roll their own saving throws independently of one another.
Example 1: The Bard, Cleric, and Druid are wearing Gloves of the Cabal. The Bard casts Scroll Banshee Wail. The scroll works normally because Banshee Wail affects multiple targets. During that combat, both the Ranger and Rogue became infected with lycanthropy. The Cleric casts one Scroll Cure Disease which due to the gloves, cures both characters of their lycanthropy.
Example 2: The Bard, Cleric, Druid, Elf Wizard, and Wizard are wearing Gloves of the Cabal. On round 1 of combat, the Wizard casts Scroll Blink on herself and the Druid. Both the Wizard and Druid are now under the blink effect. The Druid casts Scroll Ball of Lightning but since they are only fighting one monster, it has no additional effect.
Example 3: The Elf Wizard is the only person in the party wearing Gloves of the Cabal. During a combat with both a dryad and a treant, he casts Scroll Chill Touch. He makes two combat slides. The attack against the dryad misses, but the treant is hit. The dryad takes no damage, but the treant takes 6 points of Cold damage.
This item is part of the Cabal Set.
When all three Cabal items are worn, wearers gain the ability to cast two spells from their character card in one round. Either or both spells cast in this manner are capable of being modified because neither is “cast as a scroll”.
